Re: Mercy Rule ?
Fortdawg great points!! Sportsmanship has to mean some thing! If your team is so dominate win the dang game BUT do so with class and a hair of dignity. Always remember if you beat me by 40 (or whatever lopsided score) you will have a down year and when it happens I will hang a 100 on your neck just ...

Re: Mercy Rule ?
Te is already a 'mercy rule' in effect for OHSAA regulated basketball. IF both coaches agree time in ANY quarter can be reduced. For example Team A is blowing out Team B by 40 at the half. Team B coach can ask Team A coach (or vice versa) if they would agree to reduce the time per quarter the remain...

Re: Mercy Rule ?
In Ohio a running clock is not allowed in OHSAA basketball contests. With that said, coaches can agree to reduce the amount of minutes in a quarter. For example if Team A is blowing out Team B BOTH coaches could agree to drop the quarter lengths for the remaining quarters but BOTH coaches must agree.

Re: New Coach in Marauderland?
I was impressed with Coach Fry and the team during their scrimmage. He is a good coach and will be successful if the kids and parents believe in him and the program.

Re: Referees
Yes Sportsfan your right. It is also important to get the whole crew together on what we are to look for pregame so that we are more consistent as a crew. I never have an issue with another official calling something in my PCA if I didn't see it, off ball etc.

Re: Referees
" I am also not a fan of zone refereeing. If they only call things in their zone and ignore what they see in other zones, its now fair to the kids. The zone official may have his view blocked and another sees the infraction, but wont call it." The referee if he/she see's something out of t...

Logans best fit would be the MSL. I can't comprehend how much driving Logan athletics does now with conference they are in. I heard some games are 5 hours or more round trip and the same for those schools going to Logan.

Re: Referees
Officials have a tough job no doubt. Refs are not perfect and at times do they miss something, sure. Sometimes you may get stacked up, sometimes you just miss it period and other times you may not judge contact as intentional etc. 99% of refs I know have a passion for the game and honestly like to b...
