Re: Corvin named SEOAL Coach Of The Year

As great a coach as Rich is, he's an even better person. Well deserved.

Re: Thoughts and Prayers for Derrow Family

Very sad day. Coach Derrow was ahead of his time. I remember back to days of his original "Hoops Classics" in Batelle Hall in Columbus and what it has grown into. Coach Derrow's players have gotten to travel to the Bahama's, and play against the likes of LeBron James and O. J. Mayo. He had...

Top 5 players not currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame

With the inductions in Canton just around the corner, I was wondering what 5 players not currently in the Hall of Fame should be there according to the posters. Here's my list to get things going. 1. Cris Carter - 3rd all-time in receptions (1101), 8th all time in receiving yards (13,899) and 4th al...

Re: Jackson Ironmen - Coach Rolston Resigned

Would Castina want it? Would Swack want it? Jonathan Ervin? Mike Moore? Paul Haller? Just floating some names....I know less than nothing. All good names Ironman92. Does Jackson hire coaches outside of the school system ? If so Mike Moore would be an outstanding choice. Along with the "basebal...

I watched it as well.I also thought it was interesting that in all of his infinate wisdom, Doug McLean said he thought Kyle Turris should have been the number 1 pick over Kane.

Re: Quest For The Cup 09-10

Wonder what kind of confidence and energy (or lack of) the Olympic players will bring back to their respective teams? Will Ovechkin be affected by his poor performance? How fired up will Sid and the Canadien boys be if they come back to win the gold? Should make for an interesting couple of weeks a...

Amazing. Can you call it a "heartbreaking loss" when you get mercy ruled?

Re: Unlikely Opponents Your Team Has Played

Vinton County had a home and home with Dayton Colonel White in the mid 90's. If memory serves me correctly the Vikes won 41-40 at Dayton and 24-21 the following year in McArthur.

Tickets went on sale at 11:00 Tuesday and were gone in about a half hour. I'd say a lot of Cowboy fans will be headed north for this one.

Was wondering what year Bob Grillo took over the youth program in Vinton County. I'm sure the Vikings success has a lot to do with the outstanding program he runs. I'm sure that Coach Combs would agree with this as well

Re: Bengals are in the hall of fame game

I like the Bengals getting to play in the game, but I would make much more since to me to have the Cowboys and the 49ers in this one. It's not like the NFL didn't have the time to make it happen, given that they've known for 5 years that Emmit and Jerry were sure thing members of this class. The NF...

Re: Quest For The Cup 09-10

Pens start the last 20 games of the regular season in good fashion with the win. They play 19 games in the next 39 days. Thats a lot of hockey. Interestingly, the Pittsburgh crowd gave all the Olympians loud cheers but the loudest and longest was for Buffalo and Team USA's goalie Ryan Miller who Cr...

Re: Vinton County JVs UNDEFEATED

Royster was 20-0 in his last season. He was 138-18 as Vinton County Junior Varsity Coach for eight seasons. He has a long way to go before he 'outpreformes his predicessor'. Exactly Dundas. That was my reason for asking the question of Hawkeye. Taking nothing away from Coach Hale (Congrats on a gre...
