Re: Coach Alex penrod takes the helm at Alexander
Great selection Alexander! Hopefully he will bring all his own staff from outside as well. All the daddy's need to be nothing but spectators, on every level. Finally looking forward to some football at Alex.

Re: Time To Step Down?
Mainly general but it certainly could also be applied specifically. When a program is stagnent, no changes, same ole' every year, then it needs to have a new shot of enthusiasm, new ideas. There comes a time when a coach needs to receive the thank yous for their time and energy over the years and re...

Time To Step Down?
When should a coach realize it is time to step down and let new blood, ideas and enthusiasm into the program? The program at our school is steadily declining. Major changes have already taken place within the athletic scene here but many in the community were also hoping a change would take place in...

Re: Alexander at Minford
I don't care what or who started anything. I get sick of adults not learning to lose graciously, what a thing to be teaching the youth of today. Okay so its always the officials fault when your team isnt playing great, I get that, but geez adults have to set an example for the kids, no wonder there ...

Re: WEEK 9 ALEXANDER @ NELSONVILLE-YORK (THE SHOWDOWN)
Could someone please clarify something for me? Does it take two teams to play a football game or was Nelsonville forced to play by themselves on the muddy field last year at Alexander? I guess I'm not understanding why the comments about the field conditions last year, it's making no sense to me. Tw...

Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
I don't know eddienbuddy, I believe Alex handled Athens up front and back row. For a team with such a lack of height as Alexander, Athens should have totally dominated up front but from my seat I did not see that happening. It was a great night of volleyball. Maybe it's true, heart and determination...

Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
okay, I'll bite. I have only seen them play once and that was against Athens. I was very impressed. However, not knowing much about volleyball I have a question for those of you that do. Alexander is not very tall, do you have to have tall girls to be a great volleyball team? If so then I think that...

What team do you think the stats were wrong for. Athens or Alexander? Inflated?

Well worth the price of a ticket! Alexander had a great game plan, executed it to perfection. Most intense first game I've ever seen in volleyball. The team that wanted it more won last night.

What a shame. As in the past few years Alex is loaded with talent but can't get over the hump. It has been fun watching Frosty play this year. Wish things could have played out better for you.

Re: Alexander @ Athens will they play tonight?
As far as the hurt Alexander boys not having a seat, I am not sure the whole blame needs to be layed at Athens. Where were the Alexander coaches? There were certainly enough seats for ALL of them and for people that are not even on the team. One of the coaches should have taken care of these boys. T...

Re: VC @ ALEXANDER
Congratulations to Coach Combs and VC. Coach Combs year in and year out knows how to coach fundamental basketball. Basketball is more than run and gun, it is about fundamentals. What I find funny is how towards the end of a game when a coach doesn't have a clue what to do he starts blaming the refs!...

Re: Federal Hocking vs Charleston Catholic
I have no dog in this fight but I did think it was somewhat inappropriate and showed a lack of maturity to be acting like he did while a young kid was trying to shoot free throws. There is a time and a place and I think it should have been contained until the two teams were off the floor. Great win ...

Re: ESPN 100.9 Ohio River Classic @ Marietta College
I went over and enjoyed a day of basketball in Marietta. I have attended both the Hoops at the Convo and this Classic at Marietta and must say I liked this a lot better. People were really nice, set up great. Loved the bleachers on the floor, got close to the action. I didn't know until I got there ...

Quagmire be very very careful what you continue to say on this forum. Keep in mind that us old timers have good memories when it comes to athletics in southeastern ohio. I would think that you of all people would be the last person to throw stones or to talk about the morals of anyone. Days have pas...

Guy, I also wanted to applaud you for your post. We also have not seen eye to eye but your post wasn't tinged with any sarcasm, you just stated the facts. If kids and parents are required to sign codes of conduct then I think coaches should. I'm not going to argue rights and wrongs but I do think th...

I also wish them the best. I have seen both of these young men play in their high school (and before) careers and there is know doubt they both could and would make an impact on the Rio team. Hopefully, they can put their talents towards another team and learn from this. Good luck!
