Hang in there Lady Cavs things are bound to improve! Nice pictures in the Gazette today! Seniors keep up the good work and the underclassman will respect you and follow your lead!

Re: Teams at Southeastern Invitational on 4/9?
What a performance by the Chillicothe Cavaliers last night! Both teams were victorious and set several meet records. It's a true pleasure to watch these young ladies and gentlemen.

Sertoma All Star Game
Just wondering who played last night in the game. No coverage by the Gazette. I saw the score on WKKJ but no listing of players. This is a shame for the seniors being honored. It's always so nice to see them play one more time and with each other.

Re: Bobcats and Panthers
Hughes may have been retired for 15 years but he's definitely been coaching. Anyone that has been to a Chillicothe Lady Cavs game for the last 3 years knows that.

Re: Chillicothe 83 - Northwest 38
Congrats to the Cavs for another sectional win. Nice to see all of the young boys get some playing time. I'd like to see #20 get some more floor time in games like these. He is a senior who has worked very hard to be a part of this team. He played hard tonight and did a great job while in the game. ...

Re: 2008/09 All/SEOAL Girls
As I said a COY should be able to adjust to the game situation, Coach Hughes was not able to do that in many cases. A COY should be able to inspire their players to go above where they've been before, we lost the league DOC and in the first round of the sectional tournament. And a COY should be resp...

Re: 2008/09 All/SEOAL Girls
Congratulations to Hannah Day POY, also to Mo and Holly. You ladies played hard this year! I am really curious to know what consideration goes into COY other than just winning the division. I think the COY should be a coach who is able to read other teams and adjust to the situation, inspire their p...

Re: Chillicothe @ Waverly on Tuesday 2/17
Yes, Chillicothe did get beat. Waverly wanted that game and you could see it. Congrats to all of the young men who put their hearts on the floor and played to win. ( I am especially looking forward to watching the Kretzer boy develop in the next three years. Very impressive for a frosh!) I'm sure th...

Re: Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm 2/18/09
You are right BP, the girls did deserve better! I've watched a lot of basketball in my day (and this group of girls since they were young). They have so much talent and yet they have struggled so much this year. This group that was so successful up until this point. One might ask why, but the reason...

Re: Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm 2/18/09
I would love to see our ladies win this game. However, if LE starts hitting 3's we could be in trouble as we were on Sat against Zanesville. Coach Hughes will need to rectify her mistakes from that game and use a different strategy and utilize some different players. My hope is to see all of our pla...

Re: Zanesville @ Chillicothe 2/14/09
Go Cavs, I think that anyone who is "just a fan" and not personally involved with the program can step back and assess what's going on better than someone who is. Therefore, those of us who do not have a personal connection with the coach might feel more comfortable critiquing. As for bash...

Re: Zanesville @ Chillicothe 2/14/09
Sorry BP but it was obvious to some of us what happened. Game was quickly getting out of hand and our coach didn't adapt. At the very least when ZV went on a 10-0 run in the third, a timeout should have been called to discuss adjustments. Where I was sitting there was much advice from the crowd. Too...

Congratulations to our seniors! Meghan Martin, Vanessa Montgomery and Hannah Day have played many years together. Hannah battled back from her injury this year and had a great volleyball season along with basketball. Vanessa is an excellent soccer player and I enjoy watching her work hard on the cou...

Re: Chillicothe 49, Portsmouth 31 FINAL
Wow, tuned up is right. The ladies should have these fundamentals down by now. It amazes me that some players who have been on the floor all year, still don't know where they should be! I hope the girls kick it in before tournaments or it will be a very short run.

Re: All/SEOAL
Wow! Just realized that Chillicothe had 3 All SEOAL players and COY! Bret is a class act and the best thing to happen to CHS volleyball in a long time. Martin and Day are just true athletes in every sense of the word. Pittenger is a nice player and should have a great senior year. These girls set a ...

Re: Chillicothe @ Ironton 1/21
Sorry I missed this one! Glad to hear that the ladies pulled it off. Apparently, Brittany Strawser was on fire in the first half and when the game was on the line Coach realized she needed her experienced senior on the bench to get the ball down the floor. It's very interesting to see who she calls ...

Re: Chillicothe @ Ironton 1/21
I don't see the tigers winning by 25. However, if the coach doesn't play this one carefully, they could certainly come out on top. Here's to hoping that she plays to win and lets go of whatever grudge she's carrying around.

That is my understanding. I have watched her sit entire games more than once this season. When she does get in she does everything she can to help out. Anyone who has followed the girls ths last few seasons, knows she can play.
