Re: Marietta vs. Parkersburg
Once again nothing but critizism from black and orange, pressbox, footballfever and FATCAT. You guys need to get a life. Springer is doing something that no one has ever done for Tiger Football. Building a winning program. His coaches in place believe in him and Eichorn will take the reins next year...

And how are the changes going over with the other coaches?????SEOHIOMOM wrote:In all my years of athletics, I have never had a coach call and be concerned about his players like Springer has been. I respect that. He's making a lot of changes this week....all I can say is, "Go Tigers."

The more the coaches names change, the more the program stays the same.

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Schenk11 No not at all. I'm just tired of the negativity towards the football program and even hits on the new weightroom. But, I believe that there are a few boys coaches that work at the MHS that are threatened by Springer as well as when Farnsworth was there. The coaches you are referring to, an...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
black and orange: you must have inhaled too many fumes in the un-air conditioned schools while you were teaching. Really hit a nerve, didn't it. I won't go into all of the areas where you are wrong, I'll just point this out. The upgrades in the weightroom are funded by private donations- no tax dol...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Pios I should have mentioned that about the college. For those outside of Marietta, about ten years ago Marietta City Schools gave Don Drumm stadium to Marietta College. The district at that time could not afford to water the grass, much less make any improvements. The college has since put million...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Sorry dude, the weightroom isn't air conditioned, but it has received some new fans. After years of the boosters "talking" about updating the weightroom(which hasn't been done since the early 1990's) the Touchdown Club raised the money through private donations in about six months. You mu...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
...It is going to be hard to go back to the public in November and ask for the levy to be renewed claiming you need the money when money is being spent on luxuries such as air conditioning a weight room that a very small portion of the school uses. I am not a HVAC guy, but I have installed several i...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Springer has told people he wants to toughen the Marietta kids up, then they go install air conditioning in the weight room. With a high school that is falling apart, classrooms that reach close to 100 degrees in the early and late part of the school year, why do we waste public resources and donati...
Re: Levies
Each of us should do our part to fix all of these necessary levies, cuts etc and call or email our reps, get the funding issue fixed. I did this morning and it started like this: Mr. Thompson, Marietta City Schools levy has passed to make up for the money lost with Govenor Kasich's budget cuts to ed...

Re: Marietta High School's Head Coach Resigns?
Marietta should try to find someone who will be around more than 1 or 2 years. Going back to 2001, this will be the 5th head coach in the last 10 years. They need consistency, they need someone who has been in the school system as a teacher, and will be in the system for years to come. Some one who ...

Re: State of Marietta Football?
DISCLAIMER: I know what people will say, but I am not a coach, former coach, or ever plan to coach. I played in high school in the 70's, but do have kids in the program and have not ever had a kid in the system, my boy played soccer. I am only a football fan who is observant and goes to all the home...

Re: State of Marietta Football?
According to people around that situation Farnsworth left after the 2001 season because there were no teaching positions there and the Reeves hiring has everyone stumped. A couple people that used to coach there say that it was a done deal before the interview process ever took place. From the Park...

Re: State of Marietta Football?
Farnsworth was selected as the interim head coach in 2001 after Marshall Burdette resigned after the season had begun. They did win the state championship by beating Martinsburg 28-7. Then he was not brought back on as the full time head coach and they hired Bernie Buttrey. He was also a finalist th...
