Re: where would you send you child for track

And probably after Wooden didn't make it to the championship game for a 2nd straight year, he'd be gone too. I seriously believe, and I rant to friends about this all the time, we have lost perspective. If the only reason we play the game or run the race is to win, and if we lose sight of the true f...

Re: where would you send you child for track

Ok, Greg, maybe calm and elegant demeanor wasn't the best depiction...I wasn't necessarily advocating that we all sit quietly on our hands, I guess I was more speaking to the actions I see on the occasional moment I turn on the TV and catch certain sport coaches about to have a coronary and their ve...

Which is exactly the way it should be for the activity to have any long term, meaningful impact on the student's development and growth, which is the true purpose and goal of athletics. This business of calling a time-out evry whipstitch and micro managing every aspect of competition detracts from o...

Good to hear. Wish I could make it to more than I do, this whole work thing seems to interfere alot. Maybe we could email distribute minutes from the meetings or post them somewhere so when we can't make a meeting people could weigh in?

Re: This the last state meet at Scioto Downs?

I don't claim to have any knowledge or answers or ideas on this one, but I was reading an article and something struck me as curious. It stated the following: "The meet has been held at Scioto Downs since 1985 and typically draws more than 10,000 spectators. It is not a money-maker for the OHSA...

Troy Regional Information for teams

Does anyone know where we can find information for the Troy regional? This is the first time we have sent runners to Troy, and cannot find any info other than the race schedule. Have emailed the meet director several days ago and received no response.

Thanks.

Coach Hoffman from Warren HS here...I hope it’s not any of us on here posting anything disparaging about other teams. We’re a decent team, but let me remind us all….we were 23rd out of 25 teams at the Midwest Meet of Champions on Saturday on the guys side and while our girls are getting better...

Re: Logan XC Meet

Why would they do that? You had a beautiful site for a course.

Reminds me of a time when I was coaching college and the college AD wanted me to have a repeated figure 8 course where runners would be dodging each other at the intersection point...

Amazing.

Re: Balancing competition in Ohio

Assuming this also pertains to cross country -I'd like to find a solution to the issue of boys and girls teams being sent to different districts. Last year, our boys moved to DI and got sent to Watkins. Our girls were in DII, and were sent to Rio. We qualified a boy on to regionals at Pickerington; ...
