Re: Zanesville at Chillicothe: SEOAL League Championship
Congrats to Zanesville on a well played ballgame and best of luck in the tournament! Congrats also to the Cavs on a great SEOAL season! No shame in losing a championship game to a quality opponent. Stay patient and positive... those timely hits will come around again! Chilltown... way to pick the ki...

Re: Division II - Southeast District - teams & records
I have to agree. For a team to have accomplished what these kids have so far, without a field to practice on regularly, says a lot about their character. It is hard to imagine where they would be without occasional workouts at the VA (Many thanks to the Paints organization!), but it is also hard to ...

Re: Division II - Southeast District - teams & records
Chilltown, I know you are a Cavs fan and just being fair and honest and so am I. I agree with what you are saying in some respect, but for instance, Unioto is a well coached ballclub (that Chilli split with) that has beaten Zane Trace 10-1 this year and lost to Adena 2-1, so for Chilli to lose to th...

Re: Division II - Southeast District - teams & records
Chilltown, The loss to Circleville would be game number 12. Chillicothe has played 7 league games (counting the suspended Ironton game) in the last 8 days. On the Saturday of prom they played the non-league Hillsboro games in the middle of that stretch of nine. The point of 9-2 in the last eleven is...

Re: Division II - Southeast District - teams & records
Actually Chillicothe is 15-7 overall, 10-0 in the league. They are 9-2 in their last eleven ballgames with the two losses to undefeated Hillsboro. They should be looking at the 2 seed considering their schedule.

Re: 2009 Chillicothe Cavaliers
Jottings, Bolmer field is in Yoctangee park. The park is down the hill behind the school. The field is across the street from the swimming pool. I hope that helps. Gallia plays Chillicothe at the VA later in the season, so hopefully you can make the trip then. BTW, thanks for all you do to track the...

Re: State Legion pairings, results
Bama, that is a shame. Let's face it, it is not a big deal for the kids physically to play twice, but mentally, at the State level, it is hard to ask a team to go out and beat 2 number 1 pitchers in the same day. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way!

So 3 out of the 4 teams in the winner's bracket drew a first round bye and only played one game yesterday.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
What a terrible shame for those two kids, I am sorry to hear that. Credit to the other coaches who do get it and will wait their turn to allow these kids to take their shot at a state title. I agree that OHSAA needs to revisit some of their policies.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Good point Bozo. Don't forget the part where the football coaches harass the kids behind the baseball coaches backs and try to get them to go in for "voluntary" workouts at 6:00am on baseball game days! (and I am referring to high school baseball season)

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Baseball should be 12 months a year, our weather just won't allow it. The other sports are just to keep in shape for baseball. Good luck to the Portsmouth team in Athens!

Re: CAVS BASEBALL - Does the administration care?????
They don't have any option BUT to give them a chance. But honestly, it has been three years and they are still just discussing a plan. In the meantime, the coaches have to try to rebuild a program with limited resources and practice opportunities. I think the kids can sense the lack of support, whic...

I wouldn't count on that. Baseball is a dead subject with the board until the next season is half over.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
I think they use three different fields for the tourney including OU and Athens HS, not sure about the third location. All locations determined by the draw the night before the tourney.
