Re: Public vs. Private - one more time

Not a topic people in southeastern Ohio have to worry about, no private schools. I guess Notre Dame and St. Joe but they are not a factor. Only time you would see a private would be regional finals, maybe?

Re: Best player in the SOC of all time...

Sweet Pea you are correct, they moved up his senior year. They beat an 18-2 or 17-3 very good Oak Hill team by 20 in the first round. Second game of the tournament they were beaten in a close one by an 18-2 or 19-1 Peak team that lost in the regional semis to Burg that came out of the other side of ...

Re: Best player in the SOC of all time...

Pol Pot. Webster did have some talented kids that were some what handcuffed. Everything had to go through Robert's. He had to touch the ball at least once or twice every time before anyone else was allowed to shoot. The kids played scared and afraid to make mistakes, they knew they would get yanked....

Re: Best player in the SOC of all time...

Roberts over Aldridge at SW all day. Aldridge barely out scored Roberts for a career and Aldridge had the 3 point line for 4 years, Roberts had it for one. If you add up Aldridges number of post season games it adds up to almost an entire season. In essence Aldridge played a total of five seasons to...

Re: Who is the best shooter ever played for your High School?

Kaltenbach hit 10 threes in one game and only took 13 shots. B. Roberts numbers would have been crazy if he would have had the three point line for fours instead of one.

Re: Portsmouth kept out of SOC again.

The SOC needs to expand with it's success over the last five years. They need to invite Portsmouth, Ironton, and Piketon in. Those three additions doesn't create much travel. The new conference look could be: SOC I Division III Burg, Ironton, Portsmouth, Piketon, Valley, Minford, West, Division II W...

Re: South Webster

Bradley will not be back. He only coached in the first place because he knew they would be good. When he was asked about coaching with coach K his first question was "are we going to be any good". Fair weather coaches need not apply. For Cole, don't forget it is easy to look good as an ass...

Re: South Webster

Keagan, over the hump was a figure of speech same as out of the hole. I will choose my words more carefully next time. I forgot this is a site where people take your words to heart and put their spin on them to enhance their point of view. I'm not advocating for one of Websters administrators to get...

I hope it's a good name? No offense to the guys mentioned so far, all good guys but none of them can get the jeeps over the hump.

Re: South Webster

I'm surprised someone remembered my prediction. I know Chad Kaltenbach won't apply. He is finished coaching and now an assistant principal at a large school in Dayton, 2000 kids in the high school. As always I'll be watching the drama unfold.

Re: Whats wrong with Tiger football

What's wrong is that they are now playing a tougher schedule from top to bottom than they ever have. For years they only had two tough games, Burg and Portsmouth. It's now hard for them to compete every week. Being 10-0 or 9-1 is a thing of the past. 7-3 or 6-4 will now be the norm in that league.

Re: New football powerhouse in the making in Springfield?

They will not even be the largest school in their conference. Wayne, Centerville, Beavercreek, Fairmont, will all be bigger and Northmont will be very close in size. They will finish last or near the bottom of the conference most of the time.

Re: Your Schools All-Time Starting 5

I didn't consider Waginger because he is not a Webster kid, one and done. Only considering Bradley because he stuck around to coach after his one and done season.
Some other names: Mike McCoy, Jeff Lower, Todd Warnock, and many more.
