The player of the year last year was Luke Lester from Minford and deservingly so. His stats were better than Wamsley's last year as he had a BA of over .700. This year Wamsley may be the Player of the Year but last year Lester definitely had the stats to back up the award.

Minford climbs to 10-1 after a 4-0 shutout over Portsmouth West on Monday. They have a crucial game tomorrow (wednesday) with the Wheelersburg Pirates. It should be worth coming out to watch.

It's gameday!! Weather permitting, this game will be worth coming out to see. The Falcons are playing good baseball and from what I hear, so is West. Most likely a Farmer vs. Bricker pitching matchup but you never know...I expect the Falcons to pull this one out. Go Falcons!!

Eastern had some major troubles in the field during the second game. Minford got up 23-1 and the Eastern coach decided to forfeit after the fourth inning. I look to see Farmer on the mound against Waverly because Cook and Johnson have pitched the last two days and Oesch is needed behind the plate. Possibility of seeing Michael Martin but i would doubt it in a game like this.

Im not sure about some of the other fields, but i do know that minford's field is 360 at the farthest point, not 345, and the shortest point is 330 to right. I think that running track would help with endurance but in the end, hitting the weights is the thing that will help the most come august. Just my opinion.

Wheelersburg should be the leading team in home runs with the field they play on. I'm pretty sure i have seen tee ball fields with deeper fences. I'm not bashing the players, they still have to hit the ball, but its not like they are hitting bombs or anything.

Should be a classic matchup tonight at minford. Schueler and Martin will both have their teams ready for this game. This one will be fun to watch.
