Re: Northwest Mohawks 2011 - 2012

I know they have a kid cory burnworth about 6'4 or 6'5 he's very raw. Good at grabbing boards and working inside, his dribbling skills need work along with his shot, but I think if he comes full circle in all areas he could be a pretty solid player

Re: West@Northwest

I think west will take this pretty easy Northwest hit the SOC 2 slump again this year. Im thinking both teams will be looking ahead to week 10 IMO.

Re: Week 6-Wheelersburg @ Northwest

Or maybe the reason is they are told on a regular basis by other schools and their own school both children and adults how bad they are. And believe it or not these are children and they have grown up being told they are going to lose and it's hard to get around that when you're 14-18 years old. And...

Re: Week 6-Wheelersburg @ Northwest

I tell ya this much, if the UPSET somehow does happen....you will have thought NW won the STATE TITLE afterwards!! perhaps but it wouldn't be as bad as the slew of comments that would come in from (some) posters saying how northwest used every which way to cheat in order to win...but this is all hy...

Re: Week 6-Wheelersburg @ Northwest

Back in the day Northwest has, at on time or another, beaten all the other SOC II schools except for Wheelersburg. This year is as good as any to finally beat da Burg!! At least people are talking about the possibility. Stranger things have happened!!!!! Now im no historian but didn't Northwest bea...

Re: Week 6-Wheelersburg @ Northwest

Northwest......finally   Wishful thinking!!! I kinda like that! I know the Brown kid won’t beat the Burg....so who else NW got? As far as pure football talent nobody, as far as speed he may be the 3'rd or 4'th fastest on the team...from what I have seen they have some kids if they can b...

Re: Week 2: East Tartans @ Scioto Northwest

It was a great game, I must give East some credit they had more team strength and speed then I predicted they would. #7 and #25 had really good breakaway speed. If I can walk away with anything as a Mohawk fan is that Brown proved he is worth the hype I gave him 4 TD's is pretty good, but I saw tale...

Re: Week 2: East Tartans @ Scioto Northwest

As I stated on my SOC predictions page Luke Brown is a top 3 player talent wise and very few if any could take him down one on one and I just don't see East having the team speed or strength to even come close to being able to contain him, I think the Mohawks take this one and Brown puts at least 4 ...

Re: SOC II Predictions???

As with every year I hope Northwest improves and does well, will they I don't know but I hope so... I do know however they will place a top 3 player (talent wise) on the field with Luke Brown and that never hurts, anyway here are my predictions 1. Valley 2. Burg 3. Minford 4. West 5. Northwest 6. wa...

Yahoo! Sports is extremely credible. Wetzel and his crew have been doing research on this for months. Yahoo! does incredible investigative reporting.

Re: Crowds at the games

Northwest brought a huge, loud crowd to Waverly against Paint Valley. Couldn't stop watching them. Very impressive! I was part of that crowd, great great crowd. Never realized how crazy we all were until I saw the paint valley fans with the deer in the headlights look at all of us either in utter a...

Re: Portsmouth vs. Northwest -- 3/5 @ 9:15PM @ Convo

Portsmouth has the greater talent, however over the past 5 or so years Northwest has had some quality wins over Portsmouth teams with better talent, NW usually has a solid game plan for the Trojans....im hoping my Mohawks can pull it off. I do know the place will be loud from what I can see on this ...

Shoot I would love it if somebody said I played like Kayla Cook, A D1 player on a big stage, somebody who goes 100% all the time, great shot, great D, great attitude....im sensing some sexism out of some posters (and don't tell me "duuuur boys are just naturally more athletic and no girl can co...

Re: Teams That Have Deceiving Records

I have to say Northwest, losing 90% of their offense last year they are holding up nicely with an 8-9 (maybe 7-9) record and picking off a few top tier teams just like I said they would in an earlier post. Not all of the talent but smart well coached players that have been able to help shape and mol...

Is this the most balanced year the SOC 2 has had?

It seems like this year anybody can beat anybody on any given night. I know people say that is true about the sport of basketball in general but this year in particular it seems to me all the teams are near the same level on every aspect of the game....what do you think?

Re: Officiating and the treatment they get in Southern Ohio

Here's my 2 cents......players should play, fouls being called or not bi**ing to the ref won't help, coaches should coach if they don't agree with the call voice the opinion and move on and continue to coach, fans should shut up and watch, sure voice your opinion on a bad call but don't intentionall...

Northwest played hard, but there size is hurting them, even though Crabtree spanked all of Waverly's bigs tn. They just came up short in the end.
