Re: Week two: Wellston at Minford
As both a Minford and Northwestern alum I'm happy to see Prater coming to NU. Special things are happening here. Big game tomorrow against BC!

Re: New SOC/OVC League
Good luck finding a criteria that works every time, for every sport, every year!
Enrollment is the only consistent criteria available for dividing up divisions.

Re: Burg and Green combining?
You seem to have a very strange view of how all of this would work. Why would classes need to be bigger? Consolidation wouldn't put two schools together and only use the staff from one of those schools. Of course, some teachers would lose jobs, but the hope would be that the best teachers get to kee...

Re: Burg and Green combining?
Something to keep in mind is that East has no school district. Almost a decade (maybe more) ago Portsmouth City Schools wisely decided to consolidate. The Sciotoville Community banded together to create a community school (a charter school). It would be really hard to consolidate a school with no di...

Re: New SOC/OVC League
Something to keep in mind (that is always prevalent whenever new conference topics come up) is that these divisions have to be based on enrollment. While Northwest is not one of the most athletically competitive schools in the area it is the one of the largest and must be placed in the larger divisi...

Re: Ranking the SOC Fields!
In my mind (and rankings) no football field could be ranked anywhere near the top. So: 1. New Boston: Great history, beautiful location. If only the field/locker rooms were in better shape. 2. Minford: The field has gotten better over the last few years, the addition of the new building puts this ov...

Re: SOC Scores and Standings
Could someone tell me Minford's current unbeaten streak against Wheelersburg? After failing to beat Wheelersburg for a number of years, the Falcons have now not lost to Wheelersburg for at least 3 years if I am correct. I hope someone knows. It would be an interesting stat to see.

Re: Soccer vs. Football
Whatever "genius" complained about a 3 hour soccer game should have his brain checked out. Last time I checked, soccer ran a continuous clock for 45-50 minutes per half in the pros and 40 minutes on the nose for soccer. Add in the less than 15 minute half time and you're look at games that...

Re: Consolidation in Scioto Co.
Completely agree...consolidation puts the kids of scioto county in the best position academically. That has to be the number one interest of everyone.

Re: Consolidation in Scioto Co.
I REALLY like the idea of consolidation. Clay, Green, and New Boston are really, really small and that limits the amount of funds they are given per student does not give them the opportunity to best serve their students academically. Not saying that these aren't great schools, just that the small n...

Congrats to Minford for taking a share of the SOC lead. After not defeating Wheelersburg for a number of years the Falcons have now defeated (including the tournament) Wheelersburg three times in a row.

Re: If I were Portsmouth......
Everyone is forgetting that you can't create leagues based on what teams are the best or most competitive. You HAVE to do it by numbers. No matter how good Burg has been over the last 50 years, they have fewer students than any SOC II school except Valley. Just because Burg has been competitive for ...
