Re: Soc 1 Rivalries
Nest, I dont know which Bryan Osborne that you have been watching but his side to side defense is extremely good. His freshman and sophmore year thats all he did was guard point guards and other very good players in the soc(Jeremy Mcloud, Michael Humprheys, Josh Howell) and done a tramendous job. I ...

Re: Who's the best team in Southern Ohio, SOC I or II ?
After the first soc match Clay leads Eastern by 1 stroke. Easterns 1 man shot 38, 2 man shot 36, and 3 man shot 38 and they still lost while taking a 56 from the 4 man.

Re: SOC I and II- Any outstanding players?
Roman Slone(Sr.), Bryan Osborne(Sr.), and Nathan Deweese(Jr.) from Eastern pike all averaging just a little over even par. Probably the best 1,2, and 3 men on any team in southern ohio but the 4 and 5 men are shooting around 55-60+ if only this team had a decent 4 man.

Re: Waverly Basketball looking to improve
Yes Jordan Thornsberry is a sophmore and is now playing ball at Eastern. I was told that the exchang student is about 6'8 and could dunk the ball anyway you want him to and that he could also stroke it from the volleyball line. I was told this by people from waverly so my thoughts are overated!

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
Ok for all the talk about Dakota Hawks I'm just going to say it. Hawks was not all you guys are making him out to be. He moved to Batavia(the place he was at most of the summer when he wasn't working...he rarely went to open gyms). He wouldn't have seen much varsity time this year...I mean we didn'...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
This hurt the eagles very bad. Hawks would of seen alot of varsity playing time this year doubt he would of even played jv. Most people might not think so from what they seen last season but this kid has improved more than any other player on the team. With a little work on his outside shot he would...

Re: SOC 1 2009
Eastern had no seniors last season so they will have the entire team returning including Bryan Osborne who will be one of the top players in the league. They also just got a very good transfer from Waverly who will make an impact.

Re: Pike County 08-09
Dont know his name but he is a pretty good ball player. Eastern has their entire team back possibly with a few transfers. Things are looking good for Eastern has of right now but if they want to win the Holliday Classic next Winter there going to have to make some adjustments from last season. I say...

Re: Who do you think will be the best postplayers in the soc1&2?
nest, That is my point there is not a true post player on the team, but i would give Ray Brown a chance to show what he has. He is an outstanding rebounder and hustles till the buzzer every game. He is also unselfish and doesnt cry when its not goin his way. Wheeler is 6'3 and Montgomery is 6'5 and ...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
Some of the things i read on here are unbelievable. Just because somebody has a low rim at there house doesnt mean that they have to use it. It could have been a little brother or cousin. It sounds to me that some people on here have some friends or family on the team because the way that some of th...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
seetherfan, I like your thinkin. The Eagles definitely need to push the ball more next season. Someone told me that coach Fitch didnt let them run because they would make turnovers and wouldnt get back on defense. Well the way i see it they done that anyways even when slowing it down so why not just...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
nest, If any year is a year to be good its next season. The year after next the two best players on the team wont be there. So i take advantage of what they got now. Osborne will be an all-state player next season and Helton will be an all-district player. These two will be a huge loss to the team a...

Re: Who do you think will be the best postplayers in the soc1&2?
nest, I hope your right about him being a force but I have seen his work ethic and i just dont see it happening. But there is more to working hard you also have to be basketball smart and thats something hes not. There are some other guys on the team who could be a force and i think anyone who has s...

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
nest,
I said williams cause he his very athletic. If he could improve on his defense and get some rebounds he could contribute very much. He just needs to learn his roll but i guess that involves most of the team also they just need to learn there rolls.

Re: EASTERN PIKE 2008/2009
Starting lineup for Eastern: Osborne Helton Deweese Williams Wheeler Thats a nice and athleitc group there. These five could press and run and gun and get some nice easy layups. Eastern needs to play at least 4 guards at all times cause the post players there are just to slow and to weak to play 2 o...
