Re: Burg Softball
drrabbit nailed part of it. This is not the place to discuss the rest of it. Don't think for a second that the players that come out of the burg were developed by the high school program. If you really want to see how much development these younger players get, go watch one of their practices. There...

Re: Burg Softball
Not quite correct. All of the schools across the river (KY) have JV teams, due to the fact they can play jr. high kids. It's not much of an inconvenience to travel to Greenup Co., Raceland, Russel, etc. to play. All of those "logisitical problems" are overcome by the baseball teams in our ...

Re: District 11 Softball Tournaments
Abuck is right on again.(again?) Back in the old days, he & I sat around the same pools in exotic locations (Beckley, Richmond, Dallas) tipping a few and telling lies.(Ask him about his trip through Arkansas) ASA wasn't a household word and there were not a lot of teams. The draw was your DD cou...

You're right. They just aren't getting it. In fact, I find they aren't getting it wherever I go.

Or you could put all of the cows on one field and then two weeks later sell fishing worms.

You guys could have charged $100 per ticket and created a bigger stink (bigger stink...ha ha) than the indian head rock thing if you had announced that the cow would be released on the field of a "rival to be named later"

We can head this off if we band together and all plant barley in our gardens instead of sweet corn and blue runners.

Now, how does it go, whites and towels in hot water...everything else in cold?
Re: Burg
Does a JV schedule have to be limited to SOC teams? I think not. Being on the border with KY brings most SOC teams within a 30 minute drive of several KY schools, all of which have JV teams since they play jr. high kids in high school. Lots of scheduling oppportunities.

FPF. You are correct, also, but these coaches are not present in the numbers and frequency people believe. When they are there, usually it's to watch a player/players they are familiar with (possibly recruiting). No coach has the luxury of watching 30-40 teams play for a weekend just to look for unk...

Re: Little League vs ASA
221. You obviously have been around this for some time, as I, and have noticed the level of play in ASA has dropped a little, the reason being that there are many more teams now than 10-12 years ago. The better players are spread out much more. It's still a higher level than LL, but the main thing i...
