Fairland cheerleading squad
What the heck is happening to the Fairland cheerleading squad? Looks like they have a bunch of new girls in the middle of the season, like their was some mass exodus. Anyone have the scoop?

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
I know there was alot of talk about Sam Huff on here,Well he was on radar at Univ. of Kentucky as early as 10th grade but like it was said before his grades were just always such an issue and that really turns alot of recruiters in another direction,Unfortunate for him. Especially if you're on the ...

Re: Tank Stadium
Ironton is a pit, but Tank Stadium is a jewel. I hope they never go to a synthetic field, but I never understood why people think it's a tragedy if teenagers have to play on worn-out grass late in the year. The atmosphere at Tank is incredible. I've never been to a high school stadium as nice as Iro...

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
Pooper, Please think before you post. Pooper is one of the most rational voices on this board. As for recruitment, sometimes the colleges find the talented kids, and sometimes it does require some extra work to get noticed. Tom Brady had to send video to several colleges. Mostly, I think that work ...

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
These three kids are awesome. They led Fairland to a 5-5 record! They may be good kids with some talent, but let's get a grip. Fairland will be fine without them. They certainly haven't led the football team to anything extraordinary. Folks should stop acting like it's the end of the world if they l...

Re: Fairland Non-Renews Coach Wilcoxon
I am not really seeing how you get that??It is more or less an article about his record and his coaching resume.THATS ALL You're right - that's all it is, and that's the problem. Gorby and the H-D found it newsworthy that Fairland has a new coach, but completely ignored the controversy over Wilcoxo...

Re: Fairland Non-Renews Coach Wilcoxon
Boy, Gorby and the H-D have really been on top of this story. They ignore all the controversy over Wilcoxon, then do the puff piece after Snyder is hired. Pathethic. Gorby lives in Proctorville, so he knew what was going on. Doesn't he coach in the Fairland system? Guess he didn't want to ruffle any...

Re: Fairland Non-Renews Coach Wilcoxon
I think it's good that he coaches another sport. That used to be common. Coaches were coaches throughout the year. Too much unnecessary "specialization" of coaches (and players, for that matter) nowadays. I don't see how coaching another sport is a detriment to football.

Re: Bob Pruett named Virginia def. coordinator.
The program was going downhill when Pruett left right before spring ball. The winning program was a fabulous 6-6 his final year, and the program was just beginning to feel the effects of getting into NCAA trouble under Pruett. Plus, the number of players' off-the-field incidents was increasing. Snyd...

Who are these private sources? Is the school board putting any public money into the project?

Re: Bob Pruett named Virginia def. coordinator.
Didnt Snyder get a redone deal after season number one? I may be wrong. I do know that Marshall has not enjoyed a winning season since Pruett left. That will change this year, or there will have to be a change. He did get a deal, but if memory serves it didn't include more money. I think a year or ...

Re: Pryor? old news but when is he signing?
Well, Pryor has to play for 3 years, and everyone is still recruiting him, so they must want him. What's it hurt? The only people he is inconveniencing are the coaches who can decide to not recruit him any longer, and fans, who have nothing to do with his decision. His recruiting process isn't mean...

Re: Bob Pruett named Virginia def. coordinator.
He had taken Marshall from 1AA to the MAC, and on to CUSA. He wanted to be justly compensated for it, Marshall refused and quit. It’s all about the money. Are you kidding? Marshall was already doing well when he got here. Jim Donnan and George Chaump had more to do with Marshall's success, althou...

Re: Bob Pruett named Virginia def. coordinator.
Pruett was the right coach at the right time at Marshall, but he's given waaaaaaay too much credit for Marshall's success during his tenure. As soon as the going got tough, he left. Plus, don't forget those NCAA violations that occurred on this watch.

Re: Private Schools in the Tournament
It's funny the lengths that some of the "Christian" schools go in recruiting. They would care less about many of their athletes if they couldn't play ball. I root against all of them. What gets me is the obnoxious attitude of a lot of their fans. These schools have money, large recruiting ...

Re: Private Schools in the Tournament
I don't like the advantages that private schools have, but I don't think the solution (if there is one) is keeping them out of the state tournament. The tournament wouldn't mean as much if the best teams weren't participating. But it is ridiculous what schools like North College Hill can do. What di...

Re: Fairland Non-Renews Coach Wilcoxon
Until the board decides to support the program and not try to tell the coach what to do the programs will never win. To many board members have the Al Davis Owner of Oakland approach to football having to control things. If the board wants to be involved then they should develop a plan and put it i...

Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
The coach didn't get the "T". Annoying? Nah. Besides, even if he were, you can't get a technical for that. Marc Carter did. You sure? If I'm wrong, my apologies for getting it wrong (although I stand by the annoying comment). I'm positive. He (Carter) is at my house and I asked him. What ...
