Re: Shot Clock in High School
Absolutely 100% NO! The beautiful thing about high school basketball is the different styles teams can use tailored to their personnel. The shot clock would make the high school game like the college or pro game where basically everyone plays the same. Not a fan of it.

Re: Vinton County
The VC Girls played very well last night against a well coached and talented Alexander team. They have played a tough schedule so far and the pieces appear to be coming together replacing their two leading scorers from last year plus down two starters from this year due to injuries. The girls play h...

Re: VINTOB COUNTY COACH LEAVING
The cupboard is not anywhere close to being bare with four of the top six players from last year returning, including one who was All-Ohio second team and another who has gotten some offers. Maurauders19, his 6'2" or 6'3" youngest daughter, who has a great deal of potential, is also on the...

Re: Vinton County
Great job by the Lady Vikings tonight posting their first District Championship in school history with a win over the very well coached Circleville Lady Tigers and running their record to 23-1! It is a tribute to these hard working kids, their parents, Coach Bentley and all the people that helped th...

Don't forget they also played Warren at Warren early in the regular season and Berne Union and Circleville in the pre-season.

Bulldog 84-I also know the parents very, very well. I will agree 100% with you that these girls have the best parents imaginable that put 100% effort into helping their kids academically, athletically, etc. No doubt the girls and their parents deserve so very, very much of the credit for the team's ...

Re: Vinton County
Coach Bentley has turned the Vinton County program completely around the old fashioned way-through hard work, discipline, fundamentals and scouting (which few are better at). No one will ever outwork him but I guess some people see that as a flaw. Hard work pays off and his girls and he have proven ...

Re: Vinton County
Tonight was a big win for Vinton County. I was totally impressed by both teams and both are for real. Both coaches are outstanding and could potentially go a long, long way in Divisions II and III respectively. Two great programs and systems. Good luck to both teams-I hope that they both make long, ...

Re: Vinton County
Vinton County scrimmaged Berne Union (currently ranked 3rd in D4 in the State) and Circleville (who beat Vinton County last year in the District Finals and who are currently ranked 3rd in D2 in the State) in the pre-season. They went down to Warren early in the season and defeated Warren, a D2 oppon...

Re: Will VC Coach Bentley leave after this year?
Coach Bentley has turned our program totally around. He treats his players very, very well and will do anything for them. Most schools would love to have a coach that cares for his players so much on and off the Court. Morgan Bentley is a 4.0 student and a wonderful young lady . It is hard being a c...

Re: Vinton county lady Vikings 19-20
I will say this in addition-no one will outwork Coach Bentley and no one cares more for his players, from his starting five to the end of the bench, than him. VC is lucky to have him and Coach Combs. Both have worked hard and built quality programs from the bottom up. I hope that they are here for m...

Re: Best QB's in SEOPs Coverage Area History
John Shoemaker from Waverly in the mid 70's was the best athlete and QB I have seen. All state in all three sports. Played four years of basketball at Miami of Ohio; drafted by the LA Dodgers where he still manages in their system and had football scholarships from many big schools.

Nothing against either school, but I just don't see Jackson and Warren having the votes to get voted into the TVC.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
There is not a chance of any current TVC Ohio team leaving for another league, particularly the SEOAL. The TVC is a very stable league with small travel distances, great gates and schools that get along for the most part. I feel bad for the SEOAL. Logan, Jackson, Warren and Gallipolis are great scho...

Ask them why some leagues have an assignment commissioner and some don't and what the process is to get one.

Great coach and an even better person! He is and has been a great ambassador for Athens County and southeastern Ohio. He will be missed by all. Good luck in your retirement Coach Gibson!
