Re: Which SE programs added impact transfers this season?
art_vandelay.... BTW, I have read your posts for the last number of years and have great respect for your insight and knowledge about high school basketball. It is also refreshing to see the mature level of your comments about players and coaches and schools as well. Anyway, having said that, I want...

Re: Which SE programs added impact transfers this season?
It sounds like the advent of the High School version of the NIL or a "transfer portal" coming soon. Well, they have ruined College football, why not high school basketball! Sports administrators just turn their heads away from putting their foot down, and stopping this development. There a...

Wheelersburg vs. Fairland
I had a chance to see some great basketball last night. Wheelersburg looks like it now has shaken off its football legs and is now running full throttle. The players seem like they are adapting well to Coach Ater's style of basketball now. In the first half the Burg struggled somewhat but roared bac...

a "legend", don't you think that's a little premature at best?
He is following a legend (Coach Burrick) and Eaton in the background? When did that happen?

Re: Ironton to the OVC?
Very well stated! I am ecstatic about the addition of Portsmouth and Ironton to the OVC. I would like to see the OVC aggressively court both Gallipolis and Jackson to join the conference now. It would really add depth to the conference and become a win-win for all concerned (Other than the SEOAL). D...

Finally, The POY issue in the SOC II should be resolved by appointing three members of the media to make the selection. This eliminates the supposed issues of politics and/or retribution that exists among the coaching/administrative staff of the SOC. I don't have an opinion whether the issue has any...

I think that the OHSAA - Proposal for competitive balance should just be dropped and do the right thing. Split the private schools from the public schools when tournament time comes. All of the fancy schemes, formulas, policies in the world will never make for a full-proof way of ensuring fairness c...

I have to say that I love seeing Pfloyds Elite 8 posts through the BB season. He is tremendously entertaining, educated, objective, and thoughtful about the SEO basketball scene. I rarely disagree with his picks or ratings....HOWEVER, I would like to see an additional breakdown/listing of the top El...

I thought I would throw some discussion points out here to get some fire going. Here goes: Its time to bite the bullet, or do the right thing, (whatever fits here) and realign the SOC. This can simply be done by inviting Portsmouth in the SOC II and moving South Webster into the SOC I where they wou...

Chesapeake at Cincinnati area tournament
Chesapeake lost to Anderson High School on Friday evening and then beat Bellview (Ky) High School earlier this afternoon. I don't have the particulars on scores. I was told that Anderson HS has a lineup with 6'8, 6'4, 6'6 and 6'6 players. They are division 2. Chesapeake's center has finally returned...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio 2/13
After patiently listening to all of the verbal energy this entire season about the Portsmouth Trojans I just want to make a few points about the rabid enthusiasm with which the "faithful" are predicting their pathway to the championship game in Columbus. First I have to acknowledge that th...

Re: FAIRLAND @ CHESAPEAKE
My ramblings: Running up the score; First, Fairland fans must realize that this is the last game before the tournament seedings are determined this Sunday. Chesapeake wants to make a clear statement that they should be the clear cut number one seed in their district and what better way to make a sta...

Dime -a- dozen I think you are wanting to make a dissent of opinion on something that runs counter to your initial posting regarding the "starting five". Use all of the arguments that you want. I simply stated that I think that there is a huge amount of talent (in varying abilities) that c...

Re: OVC 2010-11
Dime-a-dozen I am going to throw a slight curve into your starting five. I don't think that there will actually be a designated starting five. At least not for awhile during the season. I think that there is enough depth in the lineup that Coach Davis will/can modify his lineup "game to game&qu...

Team to beat in SEO
Last year I predicted that Chesapeake would be the team to beat in SEO. Well, this year I am predicting that Chesapeake will once again be the hands down favorite team in the area. With the return of Nathan Coply (6'2"), Austin McMasters (6'4") and Colin Kennedy (6'7") the Peake will ...

Re: soc 2 10-11
One thing I can tell you is that South Webster will be a legitimate contender for the SOC 2 title this year. i watched them play at Chesapeake this summer and they are solid! I was impressed.
