Re: Congrats to Ironton St Joe!!!
And neither do you. Why so sensitive? No one criticized the team. No one criticized the coaching. Just stated that some local flavoring to the schedule would be nice. I think you've got something special going on there ... why not let the other Lawrence County teams get a first hand taste of "...

Re: Congrats to Ironton St Joe!!!
Good job, Flyers. Don't worry about the rankings ... just play'em one at a time.
As far as the schedule goes, let's support these kids. They have no control over that. They can only beat who shows up at the same field the same time as they do.

Re: St. Joe Flyers 09
I love to see the Flyers win as much as anyone. I guess I'm "old school". I remember the Purple and Gold playing football, basketball, and baseball in the Ohio Valley Conference. Back in those days, Manchester was a speed trap on 52 on the way to see the Cincinnati Reds. Go Flyers! Go &quo...

Re: St. Joe Flyers 09
It is just kind of disappointing to see someone with a SJ username downing the Flyers. Just a shame Father Glockner would never put the Flyers down. In fact, I am a bigger fan than you could ever imagine. However, it would be nice to see SJ play some of the local teams. I'm sorry, but as a fan, mer...

Re: St. Joe Flyers 09
Don't Ironton, Rock Hill, South Point, and Fairland have teams this year? An upgrade in competition may help when tournament time rolls around.

The eighth grade team will have one year of Jr. High football experience behind them. The seventh grade team, however, will be extremely young.

Is this Jr. High baseball something new? Do all of the county schools (CG, RH, SV, Chesaepeake, Fairland, SP, and ISJ) have a team?

Re: Oak Hill vs. Ironton St. Joe @ Wellston 3/3
St. Joe is not terrible. Oak Hill is very good. That doesn't mean every team they beat is terrible. When Oak Hill gets beat will you declare them "terrible"? I doubt it. Some teams are better than others. So what!

Re: Oak Hill vs. Ironton St. Joe @ Wellston 3/3
I think they were just afraid to penetrate the zone Did you notice the height advantage that Oak Hill had over the Flyers? Oak Hill is a good team that is talented and well coached. They should go far. St. Joe has a nice team, especially when you consider the size of their talent pool. They played ...

Re: Oak Hill vs. Ironton St. Joe @ Wellston 3/3
Oak Hill is a huge favorite but I know the Flyers will NOT back down. Who knows maybe history repeats itself, 30 years ago a 1-17 St. Joe beat top seeded Oak Hill led by Coach Norm 71-63. Good luck to the Flyers!!! Norm Persin still has nightmares of The Dutchman "Flying" up and down the ...
