Re: Peake vs South Point Rd 3, Sectional Title Game
I believe peake committed 11 fouls to s.p. 18. Of course the intentional and technical were shooting fouls (4 of the 20 foul shots) and most of the others were shooting fouls. Fortunately most of peakes fouls were on the floor (a couple I think were offensive). That is the difference in the foul sho...

Re: Peake vs South Point Rd 3, Sectional Title Game
Yes, the intentional was intentional (sp player grabbed Copley from behind around the neck as he drove to the basket), but the fan didn't say anything bad. He just happened to get the attention of the ref at the wrong time. Hard played game on both sides. The T did take the momentum from sp, but it ...

Re: Freshman
Just FYI, only six kids play on Chesapeake's JV squad (4 of them are freshman and 3 of the freshmen start). Chesapeake doesn't have a freshman squad. The point I was making was that the undersized underrated Chesapeake JV squad beat the much raved about freshmen from Ironton and seemed to play bette...

Re: Freshman
Last year I had heard Ironton's 8th grade was going to be the best Freshman class, but I must say I was not real impressed when I saw them play Chesapeake. They had some athletic player but played more as individuals. I felt Chesapeake played better as a team. I do believe Chesapeake beat them. ![suprised1 :122246](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

Re: OVC STANDINGS
please--how in the world you can base a kid's level of play on how he is playing as a 5th or 6th grader is beyond me. I have seen many "stars" in the 5-8th grade sit the bench in high school and have seen many "average" players become the "star" on varsity. That is why ...

Re: OVC STANDINGS
Peake has won 2 big games this week--knocking off Cabell Midland and Spring Valley. The SV game tonight was a good contest. Copley hit a 3 with just a few seconds on the clock in overtime to win by 1!

Re: Chesapeake Beasts of the Southeast Tournament---Jan. 16th
I was very pleased with the tournament atmosphere--especially for a first year event. I was not real impressed with the Prep vs. QE match up. Not much in terms of strategy and skill unless you count the pregame dunks which were more interesting than the game itself. Kind of struck me as a pick up ga...

Re: ROCKHILL @ CHESAPEAKE
Is it running up the score when you have your reserves run the offense and the defense just isn't there? What do you want the coach to do, tell the kids not to shoot the ball? When you put in your reserves you want them to not only run the offense they have been taught but run the defense and the pr...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake
Avalanche--we have all heard your opinion over and over and its obvious from this thread that few agree with you. The kids that are playing now for the panthers are the kids that CHOSE to work hard and stay with this program. The kids that left CHOSE to leave for other pursuits. Best of luck to them...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake
Avalanche, like you said--Norm left. New coach, new era. As for the coach running off a majority of the junior class, a coach chooses players whom he thinks will help build a team year to year. Not only good players, but good kids. Good coaches fill their teams with kids who not only want to play bu...
