Re: Macker Standouts
Not my son but the nephew of my good friend.... Fishing yeah probably, I have watched this kid play alot of ball, mostly before he transfered schools a couple years ago. He reminds me alot of his uncle who was a standout basketball player for RH in the late 70's. I only got to see one of his games S...

Macker Standouts
I saw some great players at the Macker this weekend. One that stood out to me was in the 15 yr old division, Scott was the kids last name. This kid looks to have a complete game as a freshman. Any thoughts or other great players?

Re: Holding back student athletes for playing time?
I guess the issues that I have with this are, I know a lot of these kids and their parents. Most are really good students but the thinking is that the class ahead is so talented that that their kids playing time is going to be limited at the high school level. Now before I go any further I must say ...

Holding back student atheletes for playing time?
I know of a few 7th and 8th graders being held back this year so they will have more playing time in high school. Problem being most of them are very good students, so is this right or wrong? Curious.

Re: Top jr. high boys players
I would agree with almost everything except I would have to say that # 21 ( old # 1 )from the "Hill" would have to be mentioned off that squad. Both of the starting guards from "P-Town's" 7th grade squad. Also a kid from St. Joe # 31. There is a lot of good players coming up in S...

Re: Junior High Boys Basketball
If I had to rank 8th grade it would look something like this: 1. Ironton- only 8th graders 2. Symmes Valley- only 8th graders 3. Portsmouth- will probably dress some 7th 4. South Point- will dress some 7th with playing time 5. Oak Hill- will dress 7th with playing time 6. Rock Hill- will dress and p...

Re: OVC (1-7) South Point @ (1-7) Rock Hill
Haven't seen the pointers play this year but I have seen the Redmen play a couple times. All that I would say to Rock Hill is that the middle of the field has been open all year, Davenport is very talented when given the chance to operate in the open. Blagg also has a nice pair of hands, McCollister...

Re: Ironton v Rock Hill: 9/3/09
Saw most of the games and I would have to say that I was very impressed with the starting QB and the starting RB from the RH squad. Very impressive and I hear that both are seventh graders. Future looks good for the HILL. Keep up the hard work.

Maybe next year, Said the boys been hitting the vertimax pretty hard at Ironton rehab, getting real close to the rim. Worked all summer on his jumpshot playing at CK may play in Spring Va...
