SE District Seeding Information

Coaches,

You will be receiving the following information from Jeff Lanham (District Race Manager), but I wanted to provide the same information on behalf of our district coaches' association. If you are a track coach, then obviously you can ignore this email.

If you do not already know, the Southeast District is using online seeding this year for the DII boys and girls races as well as the DIII boys races. This seeding process is being done on Baumspage. Before voting, there was an opportunity to submit information concerning your team for all of the coaches to see before casting their vote. For various reasons, very few coaches actually submitted information before the deadline Wednesday evening. The voting was to have opened Thursday morning and continued through Sunday evening with all votes and races being posted Monday morning.

However, the opportunity to submit your teams' information has been reopened until 10:00 PM Saturday, October 8. Beginning at 8:00 AM Sunday, October 9, you may cast your votes for the district seeding. This window will be open until Tuesday, October 11 at 5:00 PM. District race information will then be posted Wednesday, October 12.

The few coaches who have already voted will need to revote once the window opens again on Sunday morning.

The entire purpose of this extension is to ensure each and every coach has an opportunity to post their information and is aware of the voting process. The more coaches who submit knowledgeable votes, the more likely it is the races will be evenly seeded. The last thing anyone wants is to have two very uneven district races. This only hurts our runners in the long run (no pun intended).

Thanks Coach K for getting this information out. We decided NOT to delete/remove any votes that had already been submitted as of 10 PM Thursday night. Each coach MAY submit a new vote based on new or updated information submitted during the seed/record submission time period. Coaches who do not submit a new vote will have their original vote stand as it was originally submitted. We do encourage each coach who has already submitted a vote to review updated seed/record information after 8 AM on Sunday and determine if they need to submit a new vote.
