Vinton County Meet - August 20

Here are the results from the small meet we hosted yesterday evening. The course was extremely spectator friendly and deceptively challenging. I appreciate all of the help from the volunteers, parents, athletes, administrators, former runners and their parents, and the Vinton County High School Athletic Boosters for making the first meet Vinton County has hosted in many, many, many years successful. Also a big thanks to our high school and middle school football coaches for their patience while we ran on a portion of their practice field. Initially, this meet was supposed to be a league vs league (SVC-TVC) challenge in which runners would represent their leagues (while running for their own school) in the scoring, but the idea for this type of meet came to me late in the spring, and I didn't actually set it until early June. By that time, many of the schools had set meets that conflicted. So I just ended up scoring the meet as a regular meet instead of as a dual meet. Hopefully next year with an early notice all of the schools in the two conferences will consider this meet.
