Colin Rothwell of Hillsboro ran a 17:09 to win the Highland Co Meet. He's certainly way up there. The course may be a touch short....but about an average difficulty course IMO.

This is the list from milesplit.com. It doesn't include all meets and isn't southeast exclusive, but gives an idea of where the se freshmen stand.

Is the Mootispaw kid from Greenfield a frosh (I thought he was)...if so he's definately on that list.

Leesburg Fairfield has a frosh that runs in the mid-high 19's...as does Manchester.

North Adams has Chris Hatfield that I believe was in the upper 18's earlier....but hasn't ran recently that I've seen.

Chris Hatfield of North Adams runs in the low 18's on legitimate courses.

Halle Richards from Warren is a STUD!
When she was in junior high, she would regularly lead the pack during practice, leaving the guys and the girls both behind.

Kettering and Cochran both have lots of potential, and they'll definitely get their shot.

I have trouble believing that Halle left the guys behind, well all of them anyways.
I thought that Halle, Kettering, and Cochran all ran about the same times in JH.

Kettering and Cochran will earn there shots. They have a great Coach in
Rich Hoffman, and They are the fastest freshman Warren has had since
Nick Wilson and Tyler Cantley. Harlow ran a 18:59 making him the fastest
freshman from Warren's 09 class. I don't think that Warren's class of 2010
produced any freshman (J.Cantley and Dan Canaday come in as Sophs).
2011 came out with Gage Freeman in the low 20's.

My info may be wrong but I think that this is all correct. Feel free to argue.

I witnessed Richards run a mile race when she was a 7th grader. She came in one or two seconds behind the first place BOY! The time was around 5:35.

Nichols' first name is Lauren. Her hard work and dedication this summer and fall is paying off.

I still say that Halle is more of an Emily Eikholt runner. She can sure run a good mile, but I think she could run an even better 4/8. When you can set a league record in the 400 right after running a decent mile, and beat the times of GA Kara Jackson and Kayla Perry....then you're doing something.

can't argue...

The young runners that Warren has are all dedicated workers and full of potential.
Cantley and Canaday did come in as sophomores, and they'll be the only seniors next year (for the guys) as far as I'm aware.

Warren may be boasting some of the best freshman next year seeing that
they won the JH Championship.

But I never count Marietta out, I'm always impressed with their Coaches, especially Cassady.
I can see him with the kids and tell he loves his job.
