I see so many up and down times in CC.........and it has me wondering ......what school has the toughest 5k?

I noticed that the times were a lot slower at the Meigs Invitational. Do they have a lot of hills or was it just a bad day.

I watched some kids going up the hills at River Valley....geesh! Jackson could make their's very tough but don't use the hills completely. Manchester used to have an amazing course with the steepest hill I've seen. Georgetown's is tough.

Piketon the easiest?

Is Piketon actually 5,000 meters? Seems always too fast, even compared to many flat courses.

I've always heard that it surprisingly is...it runs like it's a slight downgrade the whole way.

In all of my years in coaching I believe that the Meigs course is the most challenging. However, Zane Trace, Gallia and Lancaster's new course are a close second. Were i young I would love the Meigs course because of all of the challenges it offers. It is more about strength, willpower, and muscular endurance than it is about speed. It also challenges a runner's mental tenacity and his/her heart. Zane Trace has that HUGE hill. Gallia has a tough, long, drawn out hill and then when coming off of it a sharp right turn and then immediately a sharp left turn which forces runers to maintain control and this course allows for tactical races to be planned. The new Lancaster course was very tough this past season because of the rain and the mud. I watched runners skateboard/snowboard down a hill. I watched a girl fall and get herself into a forward roll and roll all the way to the bottom of the hill!

Saying Meigs has the hardest...so doesn't this result in the slowest times?

No reply, yes it does make times slower.
