Re: Meigs 08-09
Congrats to Meigs boys and girls for walking away from Vinton last night with the most points! And I think everyone will agree here that the best event of the night was the finish of the 2 mile! Meigs freshman Cody Hanning had everyone on their feet as he took the lead and won!

Re: Meigs 08-09
Actually, Maraudermom, Meigs didn't walk away with the girls race at all, finishing tied for second. The scores that were read late in the evening were only for 10 of the 16 events. It seemed at the time that Meigs girls would certainly win, but after the other events were added in the resulting score appearred to put Meigs in a tie for first. Then, a scoring error had occurred in the 3200 m, giving Meigs an additional point. After that point was removed, Meigs was in a tie with VC and Fed Hock had the lead to themselves. Still though, it was a great night with some nice early season performances.
And, on the boys side, Meigs did have a little easier time of it. Great performances from boys and girls, Seniors down to Freshmen. I look forward to Saturday.

Yes they gave out the wrong information at the meet when they announced Meigs girls had first place.
