South Point thrower injured.
South Point thrower injured.
Jaad Smith son of South Point Coach and AD Randy Smith was injured today in an accident at his home.He is a patient at Cabell Huntington Hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his legs.
Re: South Point thrower injured.
Coach Smith is a great person. Hope things go well with his son.
Is the SP Invitational this Friday night? They are honoring members of the SP team that was runnerups in the State Meet 20 years ago. There were some fine track athletes on that team.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Smith. I pray that his recovery is quick. He is young and healthy and that should help.
Re: South Point thrower injured.
To clear this up, it was only Randys son, Jaad. He was having a cookout when a pinecone caught on fire and the fire caught a gas can beside the grill and it exploded on him. He has 3rd degree burns under his calfs and 2nd on the rest of his legs but his arms and face are fine. He is in Cabell for i believe a little over a week.
