Great job to all of the athletes, coaches, fans and volunteers who came out and endured the weather.

Thanks to our approxmiately 55 volunteers who helped make today's event a big success. Please feel free to pass along any comments or suggestions either on here, via a PM to me or e-mail me at [email protected].

What about 4:13 in this weather?

Burcham: 4:13.69 1600M and 1:57.47 800m
Cabell Midland's Jacob Burcham has served notice that his freshman year was no fluke when he posted the fastest 1600m time of his career at the Carlos Akers Memorial Invitational with a first place time of 4:13.69. At the time of this article Burcham's time was the 10th fastest in the U.S. this year. The sophomore running on his home track in Ona, WV also won the 800m run in 1:57.47. Last year Burcham was the fastest freshman in the nation and came close to setting the national records for frshmen in the mile wilth a 4:15.10 at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals.

Throughout 39 years of coaching that was the largest high school invitational I have ever attended. The folks from Nelsonville are to be commended for a job well done. With 27 schools in attendance I wondered about the time and how it would be done before dark - well they showed ALL of us that it can be done. It was cold, rainy, then sunshine, then cold and rainy. During the 4x400 may have been the coldest part of the day even with the sun shining.

Very, very nice meet ladies and gentlemen from Nelsonville and i look forward, God willing, to be attending more! Over 1300 athletes in one facility and getting the meet completed in 8 hours was amazing.

For those who were not there it was non-stop as there was little lag time between events. Oh, and the bratwurst was delicious!

overthetop....good name I guess.

I just darted down through the results looking at SE district athletes. The results are quite lengthy and somewhat busy.

Obviously those are amazing times from Burcham.

With all of the school participating, how many stadium records were set?
