Track coaches please have 9 kids compete at the district. If you have 7 or 8 take one kid out of school for the day and let them compete.

You can win a state team championship with one athlete....basketball you need 5, baseball you need 9, XC you need 5......track you need 1

Just conjecture here, but it probably has to do with the fact that OHSAA is considering combining the enrollment numbers for both boys and girls and giving each school the same divisional assignment for both genders. This is to help alleviate the problem of a coach choosing between teams on the day of the regional meet. However, there may be other problems that might arise as a result of combining the numbers. I'll be curious to see what happens nonetheless.
