Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
Warren will be good again on the boys side. Yes - I know they are losing a lot - but they return some quality kids and there were kids who did not participate this year that will be back out - who were very good as sophomores and freshman.
John Hebb, Seth Wellspring, Justin Hill, Mike Harlow and Jerrod Cantley will probably be able to score some more points for Warren somewhere along the way.

Gallia on the girls side. Should be mostly the same girls with a couple additions with incoming freshman. They had a very solid season and alot of success however, I don't think these girls were satisfied with the way the season finished.
Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
It was just one of those bad couple days for the girls from Gallipolis. It is always a real bummer when things happen to teams like that and you know they a better.
Just get them next year.

i think logan will come out on top next year. they got alot of young kids that got it done last year and i think that they will do better next year. loog out for them. i think the only problem Logan is going to have it placeing someone in the 800,1600,3200. the only one i think that can place is Eli reed in the 3200. shane meyer and cory reid are gone so someone is going to have to step up this year.

Look at the points scored in the league meet, Marietta isn't losing very many guys who scored points. The majority of them were from juniors.

I think the title will be between Marietta, Zanesville, and Warren. Warren lost most of there team, but they still have Cox who has been clearing 15' this summer. The 4x8 will still be strong they can easily find 4 guys to run 2:05 or better. Richards and Roush who were kicked out of the 16/32 this year both will score high at SEOAL. Possibly 2, 3 in both events. Roush placed 2nd in 800 but was DQ.

i could see zanesvill being in there but they dont have people that can place in the distence races. warren loses alot of points but with all the guys gone who is going to take there places. they dont 1,2 in the 1600 and all those point are gone. so wear are they going to get points in that race?

Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
Marietta will be powered by - Wieferich, Tabler, Munfield, and Westbrook. Logan will ride - Siegler, Ruff, Neff, and McCort. Warren will lean on Roush, Cox, Dunfee, and Richards.
IMO a lot will depend on what happens behind these guys. They will all score their points, but depth wins track meets, and you guys would be foolish to think that Warren will not be able to field a competitive track team next spring. They will be in the mix - the cupboard is not empty at Warren.
May is a long way away - train hard boys!

Warren was very deep last year when they ran at open meets. They will be right in the mix if not the favorites.

Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
Warren's biggest loss was there throwers and Majoy. The distance teem will be very good they have plenty of guys to fill spots Roush and Richards will be the leagues best next to Weefy. They won’t miss Cantley or Wilson until state. Warren graduated there top 4 throwers in both events it will be years before they can rebuild. Majoy could score points in any event LG, 200, 400, 800 and was essential to Warren’s relays. Warren needs Jumpers this is Etta’s advantage.

Hebb's running? Wow that's great news he could easily fill sam's spot except mabe the 4x8. If he puts his full effort into it he could do great things.

how cant you miss cantly and wilson. they wear the best two mile runners and 2 miles runners warren had. it is going to be hared to have someone else that runs as fast as they did. Logan is going to be good in the sprints this year. they have Kyle guess in the 400 and Ryan cassady. david ruff and trent mcCort in the 300 and seth siger in the 110. jon neff in the shot put. the only think that is going to hurt Logan is in the long races.

Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
No one said Warren would not miss Tyler and Nick - for sure they will. The simple fact is: Warren has other distance runners who are better than anyone else in the league - save Weiferich.
It is "hared" to look so far into the future - lets talk about XC.

what runners are better then everone else? you cant say that tell we see that they can bet everone. weiferich is the one to beat but you cant just go out and say my runner are the best out there.
Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
The distance runners that Warren will have next year didn't really need to run them this year.

Re: SEOAL-2008-Updates
5k - I am basing my observations off of facts - Richards from Warren has finished 3rd the last two years in the two mile at league behind - Weiferich and Wilson - guess what Wilson is gone.
Both Roush and Richards will be very solid in the mile, probably not Cantley, Wilson good, but they will get their times down there before the year ends.
Warren has another 17 minute XC guy who did not even run track this year - Mike Harlow will do well in the distance races.
Guess what - Jerrod Cantley will be back out for track this year - he was Pole Vaulting 13.5 feet last year in practice - and he ran sub 54 in the 400 his freshman year in track at District the one and only time he ran it. He is running XC again this year - he will be a force on the track and XC.
I will say it one more time - Wieferich is the man in the SEOAL in the distance races, and Marietta has some other good runners as well. Warren and Marietta will own the distance races as usual and will duke it out for the XC crown. The rest of the league just does not take distance running seriously and it shows.
