Arthur Lydiard Classic @ South Point High School

Post by SPTrack »

South Point will be hosting it's first ever invitational on it's new eight lane track on Friday May 2nd of 2008. In honor of my friend and mentor the legendary New Zealand coach, Arthur Lydiard, the meet will be named after him. We will be doing some different things to make this a memorable meet. Some past Olympic athletes and world recorder holders from both New Zealand and the United States, will be at the meet to give out awards and talk with the athletes for example. Details on who later. Some of the events will be named after people like Peter Snell, John Walker etc.
Teams scheduled to compete:
Chesapeake
Fairland
Rock Hill
Coal Grove
Portsmouth
Portsmouth ND
Spring Valley WV
Jackson
Ironton
South Webster
Russell Ky
Wheelersburg
South Point

What a great idea! Congrats to Coach Smith for the new facility!

Are there any more openings in this meet for teams?

I heard there track wasn't fully completed, and that is why they aren't having it.
