River's strongman junior (yes, he's just a junior) put the shot 60'5 tonight in the Wetzel-Tyler Track League at New Martinsville to break the school record of 54'10 set 35 years ago.
An all-Ohio football lineman, Duke has already done 62' in practice, but the OVAC record is 61'6 which is within striking distance this season.
River is the defending champ in OVAC 'AA' track.

This may indeed be a legit mark but it will certainly be scrutinized. Who took the reading on the tape? Was it verified by the head Field Judge , Is the Head Judge a registered official? Who was marking the spot?

All questioning of the actual measurement aside, I am sure it was quite a long throw.
I hope to get to see Duke throw at some point.

I've watched him throw at the state meet the last two years. I hope he can get it turned around this year.
