SG should have a solid distance runner returning in Jake Watson and Jeff Clyburn has improved each year in the sprinting events.
The problem with SG is they never have enough kids to win as a team. They did place second at the Buffalo tournament twice, but other than that SG has not been able to compete as a team.
Is there not much of an interest? Does their coach not make it enjoyable for them? Who knows?

In my opinion and history of running track for south gallia there is not a better season than the track season. We have had one of the best possible coaches you could wish to hire. He has made the last seasons so fun with his sense of humor and easy to get along with attitude. Though dont get me wrong and let you think he was a pushover, cause he wasn't, he ran us hard and still aloud it to be enjoyable.

They might not be very strong on the boys side because of watson choosing not to run and clyburn doing baseball. But i heard the girls have a decent number out i believe 15-20 or something like that.. So u never know could make a big stride in girls track.

"Back street fight is looking for trouble
If you open your mouth You're bound to rumble
Johnny looks tough He's froze in the eyes
He keeps his mouth shut He don't tell no lies
Johhny went out last night Got in a barroom fight
Embarrassed a jealous man in front of his cheatin' wife
The man said "Tonight you won But I tell you son
This one's far from over" Johnny said...
Big talk is just cheap talk unless Unless you're backin' it up
Big talk is cheap talk Only words
Unless you're backin' it up Backin' it up
I don't know why some men lay down and die
Don't they believe in what they are sayin'
You should get on your fee Believe you can't be beat
Remember talk is only playin'
Big talk is just cheap talk unless Unless you're backin' it up
Big talk is cheap talk Only words
Unless you're backin' it up Backin' it up
I remember what my old man used to say (WE'RE BACKIN' IT UP)
Never give up and run (WE'RE BACKIN' IT UP)
Don't let the talkin' breeze blow you away
Always remember Stick to your guns
Big talk is just cheap talk unless Unless you're backin' it up
Big talk is cheap talk Only words
Unless you're backin' it up Backin' it up"
God bless Jani Lane!

What are the boys records at sg? I was also told that one that I set was going to be broken this year..... Another thing is i believe one the younger members of the high school team was talking about how they were going to "tear it up" in the mile, there is a 7th grader, Eli Fraley, for South Gallia who ran a 5.50 at fairland the other night. He has now cut 17 seconds off in four meets..... What is the best high school mile so far?

4:47.13 is the best time I have found from Steve Call's senior year at SG.
I kept pretty good records the four years I was the coach at SG, but I always had trouble tracking down records from before 2003.
Anyway, here are the boys' records I have for SG; anything before 2003, you might try talking to Beth James.
Long Jump: Brian Barnes, 18-7, 2000.
High Jump: Dustin Lewis, 6-0, 2003.
Shot Put: Josh Skidmore, 40-7, 2006 @ University of Rio Grande.
Discus: Paul Combs, 121-4, 2005 @ Rock Hill.
100M: Dustin Lewis, 11.8, 2003.
200M: Dustin Lewis, 24.2, 2003.
400M: Dustin Lewis, 54.0, 2004 @ Fairland.
800M: Steven Call, 2:11.7, 2006 @ Fairland.
1600M: Steven Call, 4:47.13, 2007 @ Pickerington.
3200M: Steven Call, 11:40, 2007 @ Eastern.
110M H: ???? Ingles, 21.38, 2000.
300M H: Michael Corey, 51.2, 2002.
4x100M relay: Josh Duty, Brian Barnes, Matt Bess and Dana Bickle, 48.4, 2000.
4x200M relay: Brian Lewis, Kevan Johnson, Robert Coury, Casey Sommer 1:43.8, 2006 @ Rock Hill.
4x400M relay: Brian Lewis, Rob Coury, Paul Barker, Casey Sommer (59.8/2:01.9/3:00.8/4:01.1), 4:01.1, 2006 @ University Of Rio Grande.
4x800M relay: Steven Call, Brian Lewis, Casey Sommer, Rob Coury (2:16/4:45/7:19/9:43.7) 9:43.7, 2006 @ Fairland.
Distance Medley (800-800-1600-400): Rob Coury, Brian Lewis, Steven Call, Kevan Johnson 11:30.4, 2006 @ Fairland.
Shot Put Relay: Paul Barker 34-6, Josh Skidmore 36-3 ¼, Kevan Johnson 27-6, 2006 @ Fairland.
Discus Relay: Paul Barker 84-2, Josh Skidmore 80-7, 2006 @ Fairland.

The 3200 record was reset last year by Jacob Watson with a time of 11:30 at the Buffalo Meet.

I didn't realize Jake had run that time in the 3200. By that point, I had stopped dealing with the SG track records.
