This is what the throwers at Portsmouth High School can shoot for. Someone posted this awhile back.

Last year the Trojans were bless with Nate Cadogan (high 40's shot and 150s discus), and John Prior (mid- high 40s shot high- 130s discus) who came out for his first and only season. Both are off at college now playing D1 football.
This season the Trojans will return 2 throwers from last year’s team. They are Justin Welch and Taylor Brown. Justin threw around 115 last year in discus and I would expect to be in the 120-130 range this season. In the shot Justin threw around 35 and should be approaching the 40s this season.
Taylor threw around 100 in discus and around 35 in shot. This year may be a breakout year for Taylor, as he has had another year in the weight room lifting for football. Taylor needs to fix a few flaws in his technique, and I believe he will be able to put up some good #s.
The Trojan throwers may not produce as many points this season without Codogan and Prior, but should still be competitive this season.

David Fouty, who transfered to Jackson from Unioto should be throwing mid 140-150's this season as a junior.

Jackson has a very good throws coach. Fouty will do really well.

noreply- He started out the number one thrower but the Cyrus kid came on strong, hitting 135'. Fouty was hitting low 130's., but the Jackson weight room has taken him from 195 lbs. last year to 230 lbs. now. At 6'4", he should be a top thrower in the league.

Is Cyrus the freshman from last year?
I knew they had a 9th grader throwing for them last year that was opening up some eyes.

Noreply who is the young kid from Logan that is a relative of one of Logan's top throwers from the past? I think the guy's name was Colt something or other that this kid is related to, he had the league record until Smith came along from Chillicothe. Anyway he was at one of the Ashland indoor camps this winter throwing rotational shot. He is a big kid and Coach Robinson said he may be the next thing to come out of Logan.

The kids name is Coy Blair. He is a sophomore, he threw 56' 2" in the shot put up at OSU last weekend. He will be a good one.

Sorry about taking over the Portsmouth thread but I thought it would be a good one to get some things going about throwers both boys and girls coming back in the league.

Yes in the girls shot Shanyce was very good, and should be even better this season. Don't forget that she will only be a sophomore this year.
The Portsmouth girls need some help in discus, but should have a strong overall team. I would like to see them try some of their other athletes out at discus that don't have a full list of events.

noreply- Yes, the Cyrus kid was a freshman last year. Very strong. He should be a good one. He will be going against Logan and Portsmouth a couple times this year.

Haven't come across Logan schedule yet--can't say if they will play Unioto or not.
I don't think they played each other the last couple of years.
