Ironman,

No, that is an error. The schedule says 4 heats of the girls 800 and take the top 8 from each heat to semis on Wednesday. That would make 4 heats of 11, with top 8 moving on from each, thus eliminating three from each heat today. This is being reviewed.

They had about 38-40 800m runners and ran two heats.

All I can say is that Webster boy got SCREWED out of the mile. The gun clicked, about 3 or 4 false started, then it fired. Only the Webster boy got caught? You can't punish a kid when you have a faulty gun. After the race officially started, you could see officials looking at it to see what's wrong. C'mon guys.

I thought it was held a touch long for a mile run......but I did not see (not that it didn't happen) others false start.....he was leaning pretty early and couldn't hold on to his balance.

If in fact the gun faulted or the official....obvioulsy it's the wrong ruling. I didn't notice a faulty gun until the second attempted start.

One of the 400m boy qualifiers false started but no one called it.....it was pretty obvious.

There was a Wheelersburg boy who false started also, but the kid from Webster's was way more noticable. I've heard others complain that the officiall held the gun too long for other races too. Anyway it's over, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in I guess...

Same thing happened in the girls 4x4 on Wednesday. The girl was upset and knew it was over, they didn't call it and put her back in the blocks.
