How are the meets going with the D-III teams? Especially with the girls?

Going pretty well. Great effort in Oak Hill.

One thing being looked over a bit.....with all the girls in Oak Hill the sprinting events on Wednesday in Chillicothe were very intense on the athletes with little recovery time as there were no girls' heats.

It is a great field of girls at this district. The ones who move on have a very good chance of placing at regionals and the winners should almost universally move onto state. In fact, I expect to see a fair number on the podiums come June. That said, I want to see the Southeast with two districts.

How did we do with getting full girls teams registered at this meet? Anyone know? If we want to change it back, that is the key.

My team had 10 participants this year and just 7 last year...so that's one team that wasn't from last year.

Unfortunately we will get 0-2 to girls on to the regionals.....would've advanced 6 using previous years' format.

Congratulations to the Wheelersburg boys and girls track teams on winning the DIII District. ;-) . It was an exciting meet with great competition, congrats and good luck to all regional qualifiers.

Great job by Kristen Ruby and her crew, you must be living right to duck the weather all week.

I talked to Kristen Ruby and she said that she thought there were about 20 full teams for the Division III girls. If about ten more schools brought the full nine girls--all they have to do is walk their events, attempt a high jump or toss a shot put once at the district meet next year--and we will have two districts and get to send eight girls from the districts to the regionals...

It needs to be a district wide effort by all the coaches. Good Luck!
