Congrats to the Blue Angels on their 17th consecutive District Championship as well as the Devils championship. Several district records were broken by this group and good luck to you as you travel to Meadowbrook next week!!

Gahs, I knew going into the SEOAL meet that Gallia was very tough. This is no surprise to me - good team and good kids. How is your daughter's hip?

17th straight is silly.

I don't know how much the Gallia Academy girls track team gets credit for around their area...but it's not nearly enough whatever it is. Impressive doesn't cover it.

Blue Devils 2nd in SEOAL meet. Angels 4th. Yet they win district titles. Hard to understand. Is the scoring done a different way?

Might be stronger teams in the SEOAL

There are bigger schools in the SEOAL like Logan, Chillicothe, Warren, and Marietta that have more athletes for each event. Another reason is that the district has more teams leaving the points more spread out. As opposed to the SEOAL where there are only 7 teams.

The girls have alot of talent in the 400-3200 meter range right now so they can give you several different looks. Some of the relays/events were changed up from what they showed us at league. Maybe they were giving girls a break or maybe just getting as many involved as possible???

Adkins was only able to run 1 event due to an injury and Barnes was coming off an injury and wasn't able to go all out. There was no way they were going to beat Chilly or Marietta, but maybe could've got Warren for 3rd.

A league championship is quite a different animal than are the qualifying rounds for the state championship. A league meet is all about TEAM and a District meet can be, as well, but after that it is all about individuals. I remember a young man named Roland James who won 4 events at the Ohio State Championships and won the TEAM title for Yellow Springs. I believe the young man went on to play for the New England Patriots.

A few strong individuals can win a state championship whereas that same very small group cannot compete in enough events to win a league or even a district championship.

Many years Logan has led a regional qualifying round after all field events are scored, but when it comes to the track we get our rearends handed to us on a platter.

A couple of years ago, Gallia was 2nd in the league and was State Runner-up.
