Thursday night throws meets in chillicothe

In an effort to allow more athletes in the southeast district access to indoor competition without the long trips to the colleges, there will be 4 indoor shot only events held at triple crown sports in chillicothe. There events will be on the following dates. 1/8. The events are recognized by oatccc and the distances will be used in qualifying for the state indoor meet.

The cost to compete will be $10. Doors open at 5 throwing begins at 6 with girls and boys throwing at the same time After the shot put we will tentitively planning on offering the weight throw as well. The throwing formate will be 2-2
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 throwers.

Meet registration will be handled by mile split ohio. The first meet is posted and you can apply and pay your entry fee there. Since this is a school night the field wil be limited to 32 throwers of each gender

I have recieved a lot of interst about this meet from around the state so please register early to avoid being shut out

At the moment sign ups are light but I am hope the number of throwers increases between now and thursday.
On the boys shot side of things the talent is good with petzel and detillion all ready signed up

The first throws event in Chillicothe went very well with 3 national elite throwers registering marks

Maddee Tabor from Gallia winning the shot and weight throw

Walt Petzel won the shot 54'7
Arron Elliot from Waverly winning the Weight throw 60'3

The next contest will be on Tuesday 1/20/2015
