Looks like a high of 35 degrees this Saturday. Will this meet still take place or will it be cancelled?

I would imagine it'll still be on. Track meets rarely get cancelled simply because it's cold. Now if it were to snow/rain hard, and add wind to that it would be cancelled. But it's supposed to be chilly and nothing else, so they'll still have it.

Yep, cancelled. Good call. Saturday morning in the mid 20's. If any wind the wind chill would have been in the teens. Long season, no need to start off sick.

It is the right call.... but we are depriving this generation the stories that the old timers tell about running in the snow and sleet and rain. i dont know if the old stories are true but they sure are good stories.

They are true! I've competed in the snow when it was in the 20's.

If not all of them have been, I'm sure they will be cancelling/delaying soon.
I was told meet at Newark was recently called off.

Can't remember the year but I can remember going to Chillicothe the first spring meet and it was a real nice day. The next weekend Logan went to Ironton and it snowed some during the meet.

No Reply, the coaches and athletes had snow shovels shoveling snow off the track at that meet. By 2:00 p.m. the temperature was in the 50's and the sun was bright!
