Wellston

Wellston will still be near the bottom of the TVC. Program has been down with small amount of girls going out. There will be a few girls with some talent but don't look for too many points score in the league meet.

Waterford

Waterford will be in the overall top 5 of the TVC. Look for them to get solid points in the league from 4x200, 4x100, 300 hurdles, Pole vault, 800, high jump, Shot put and 4x400. Will need work in the 4x100, Discus, 3200. Might find it hard to score in these three if help doesn't come from the freshmen. 100 hurdles, could be a hard one to score points in too. Waterford could easily score 100 plus point even if they had one league meet.

Wahama

Hard to find anything on their depth. Only see them scoring in about 4 events......100 meters,200 meters , shot put, Long jump. Best event looks to be the long jump with a good chance of winning it. Will be hard to be higher than the bottom third in 2016.

Vinton Cty

Can see them scoring in a dozen events. Will need to work on 100 meters, 400, Long Jump, Pole Vault, 200 and high jump. Looks to have some good girls coming in for the freshmen class. Don't see them being strong in any certain event. Most point will come from 3rd place on down. Can see them finishing from 6th to 10th in the overall TVC.

Trimble

Another down year for these girls. Very few point will be scored. Look for them to score in 4x100, Long Jump, 3200
Saw their middle school team at Nelson/York and don't remember them being strong at anything...so don't look for too much help here. Should finish in the overall bottom 5.

South Gallia

Should finish in the bottom 5 with a possibility of not scoring at all. I can see them picking up points in the high jump

Southern

Southern will be another team that will struggle to score point overall. Best bet to pick up points just might be in the sprints 100/200. Should finish in the bottom 3rd.

River Valley

River Valley will be in their 2nd year of the TVC. They look to be able to score in a mixture of events. 4x200, 1600, Discus, 400, high jump, 3200 shot put and 4x400. Most points will come from 4th place on down. No one outstanding event. If they get some needed help from the freshmen they could crack the top 5 but I see more like 7th.

Nelson/York

Look for most of their points come from the field events. Discus and shot put will be very strong with two girl bring in points from both events. Other than the field events I only see them getting points in the 4x800. Just with their field events I see them finishing in the top 5.

Miller

If they field a team it will be very hard one them to score.

Meigs

I see Meigs scoring in over half of the events with the 4x100 being their best bet to win an event. Points should come from 4x800, 100 meters, 4x200, Discus, Pole vault, 800, 3200 and 4x400. Other than the 4x100 most of the points will come from 5th through 8th. Another team that could finish from 6th to 10th.

Federal Hocking

Another struggling team. Could get points in about a half dozen events. Look down in most field events. Will finish in the top 10 with best events being 100 meters, 4x200, 4x100, 300, pole vault, 300.

Eastern

This could be Easterns year to take the overall championship. Can't see any event other than the pole vault where they shouldn't score. 4x800, 100 hurdles, 1600, discus, 400, long jump, 800, high jump, 3200 and 4x400 will bring big points. Easterns down fall could come from 100 meters, 4x200, 4x100, 300, pole vault. These event could bring them less than 5 points in each event. The other events could have them winning in the area of 6.

Belpre

This team will only score in about 6 or less events. Can't see the making the overall top ten.

Athens

Athens will be strong again but lost a lot of talent. Just have to wait and see if the girls that didn't get in much last year to step up. Only event I see where they will struggle at is the shot put. On paper they look a little week in the 1600 and discus. The 1600 might not be a problem because Athens have girl that should be able to jump in. A long with Eastern these girl could score in every event. If Athens is going to keep Eastern from the overall title they will have to work on the 1600, Discus and shot put.

Alexander

Look for a top 5 finish here with these girls scoring in most of the events. If this team wasn't so down in the field events they could very well be in the thick of things. It is very possible they won't pick up any points at all in the field events. They look good in the 100h, 4x200, 300h, Other than the field events they are down in the 100 meters,1600, 400,

The finish

This will be a two team race for the overall championship. Don't know too much about the up coming freshman , but with Eastern having the ability to have two girl finish in the top eight of so many events I see them edging out Athens.
Waterford will make a run at the top two but being down in about 5 events will allow Athens and Eastern pull away.

As this meet goes on I see Eastern leading early and Athens coming back a 4th the way through to pass Eastern but close to midway Eastern will take over. With about 4 events left it will look like Athens will come back but with Eastern being strong in the last two field events it will doom Athens.

Although speculations can always involve some opinions, I looked at the Meet of Champions and see that not counting the relays Athens has 107 points returning - Eastern 44. Also, in the relays Athens scored 34 v, 15 for Eastern with most of those returning. Moreover, the Athens Middle School girls won the Meet of Champions in a blow out. Of course a lot of things can happen between now and next Spring, but I have the Bulldogs "by a mile"!

You could be right......I was wrong about Athens last year

Didn't Athens girls finish 3rd in the Ohio last season in the MS meet?

Meigs has Kassidy Betzing coming up who has jumped well over 16' and runs the 100 around 13.3. Also Madison fields runs the 800 in the mid 2:30's. Both viable addictions. Athens got third at the TVC, Meigs got second but had the eighth grade trip the week of the MOC, just throwing thay out there

Alexander has some good distance runners that should help them out in the 1600 and maybe
400.
