Girls

Chillicothe

Lost 5 to graduation- Looks like they will be strong in most events.
HJ and LJ could be a little down
Should finish in the top 3

Hillsboro

Graduated around four-300 and 400 look to be their best events
100h, HJ, PV will do okay
About half of the events will need some work

Jackson

Didn't graduated too much-First year out of the SEOAL and it looks like they will do fine.
100, 3200 and Long jump will be good
200, 400, Discus will bring points in most meets
Only see the 300 and Pole Vault where they will be shut out in the conference meet. {Jackson doesn't do the PV}
Should finishes in the bottom three

McClain

Lost three from 2018 where they had a young team
Should do okay in the hurdles and 200
Discus and shot put will do okay
Might get shut out in the 100, 1600, 3200, PV
Will finish in the bottom 3

Miami Trace

Only two gone from 2017-Should do well in most events
200 looks to be where they need the most help
Will finish in the top three

Washington

Graduation took around three-10 events will be strong for them
Don't see them shut out in anything but the 100h and Discus might struggle
A top three finish

Boys

Chillicothe

Graduation didn't take much-100, 200, 400, HJ, LJ will be solid
110, 300, 1600, 3200 will get their share of points
Could get shut out in the discus
800, SP and PV will be down
Bottom three finish

Hillsboro

4 gone from 2017-Will be strong in all field events as well the 400, 800, and 3200
1600 will do well
See being shutout in the 100, 110, 200 also the 300 will need work
Will be near the top

Jackson

Lost three to graduation--first year out of the SEOAL and I see the boys done better than the girls
Will do real good in the 100, 110, 200, 300, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump
400 will do well at times
Could be shutout in the 800, 1600 3200 and pole vault--Hj needs some work
Could finish in the top three

McClain

Lost five from 2017-Seven events will be bring most of this teams points--300, 400, 110, 1600, Discus, HJ and PV.
Going to be hard to score points come the conference meet in the 100, 200, 800, 3200, SP, LJ
Will finish in the bottom three

Miami Trace

Lost five to graduation-100, 3200, Did, SP and PV will do well
200 and Long jump could get shutout
All other events will do well
Miami Trace will be one of four teams fighting for second place.

Washington

Washington looks to have lost the biggest number from 2017-but will still have lots of talent.
Might not score in the 400 and the field events will be a struggle
800 thur 3200 will be good.

Chilli girls will have a new Coach but he will inherit a ton of talent. All relays have the potential to break school records and if we get a high jumper and long jumper every event has points possible. No disrespect but we didn't graduate very many points per meet, great kids that ran or jumped their role. Go Cavs!

As I said above the girls from Chillicothe will be strong in almost all events. Picking a top three finish is because it is too early to see what new kids will come out or what kids will decide not to come out, plus transfers in and out. As far as SEO it will be interesting to see if the Cavs and Bulldogs from Athens meet this spring. Hope it is later in the season because Athens is known not to put everything on the table until later.

Chillicothe Girls are the team to beat on the girls side , defending 2 time champs. McClain is a team on the rise. They have the best sprint relays in the league right now. It will be very competitive on the girls and boys side for the title.

The league championships will be at Washington CH this year. Looking forward to the spring when it gets here!

Well if you believe in mile split. Here are the projected league results excluding relays based on everyone returning. I know that there are a lot of assumptions here and the impact of 1 or 2 new athletes could make a big difference.

boys
hillsboro 123
trace 81
wch 81
chilli 78.5
jackson 77
McClain 66

Girls
Wch 119.5
chilli 115.5
trace 92
jackson 57
hillsboro 46
mcclain 40

Agree with most of the above. If Jackson boys stay health and find some help in 800,1600 and 3200 they could shock some people.

I completely agree. 2 stud athletes can swing the point total by 40 plus points. it will be interesting to see who comes out, who stays healthy and who puts the pieces in the right spots.

For the boys I would have to go with Hillsboro too. Miami Looks like the number two team. Jackson just might be better than what Milesplit is calling for. If McCoy makes it back for track Jackson will have a good showing for the 2018 season. Washington, Chillicothe and McClain look like close teams to me. The relays just might be the story between those three. I will go with this

BOYS
Hillsboro.....need work in the 110/300
Miami Trace.....Looks a little weak in the 200,400
Jackson.....800/1600 and HJ looks weak and Jackson doesn't do the PV
Washington.....400 and LJ are weak
Chillicothe.....Discus, Shot Put and Pole vault are not very strong
McClain.....100, 3200, SP and Long jump will need some work.

GIRLS
Washington.....could struggle in the hurdles, Discus
Chillicothe.....a few events will not have a lot of depth
Miami Trace.....200, 400, 800 could have some trouble
McClain.....400,800,1600,3200 could be their down fall
Hillsboro.....1600,3200 and most field events will hurt this team

Chillicothe has a high jumper now as Kaitlyn Mauger transferred from Unioto and jumped 4'10" as a freshman. Addie Erslan ( freshman ) also high jumps and ran the open 400 in eighth grade in the 103.00 range. Riley Wrightsel long jumped 15'7" as a freshman indoors but was seldom used last year due to a lot of events close together. We did lose Janai Summers as she moved to Columbus so shot and discus could suffer. Go Cavs!

Should be a great showdown with Chilli and Court House as both have a lot of talent . Depth could be deciding factor and Cavs have it. We have points in every event this year if all stay healthy. Sullivan both hurdles, Wrightsel 100 and pole vault, Cousins & Barnes 200 and 400, Tarlton & Cuzzolini 1600 and 3200, Roper 800 , high jump Mauger and Erslan, long jump Wrightsel and Mauger , throws Brown and all relays are solid with a couple looking at breaking records possibly. New Coach has team geared up and will be ready 💪

MIami Trace will be in the mix as will Mcclain and HIllsboro should be interesting league meet. All the teams i Have just listed return some depth and bring in talented freshman that will score. All in All should be a competitive league meet.

The team with the most depth should take this one.

Blake McCoy will not be doing track at all.

LJ-200-300h and usually in either 4x1 or 4x2 for 4th event.

It stinks but so did him blasting thru Chillicothe in week 10 on 1st play for 80 yards.....only to be able to not play and win FAC

He was going to come back and run 200-400 and maybe relays but not worth the risk. Going to Ohio Dominican to play football. Will likely red shirt

Really sorry to hear that. If he has a chance to play football at the next level it is understandable.
It was a pleasure to watch him going back to a freshman.
Good Luck at Dominican.

lady Cavs should roll..

Lost only 8 points from a championship team due to graduation.

This should be their third title in a row.

Anything less than a league title will make the season an underachieving disappointment.
