Is this kid healthy? I saw he didn’t participate in their last few meets on MileSplit.

He is, and getting stronger…His family went on vacation for the week of spring break. He had a great meet last night at Coal Grove’ open.

Congratulations to Rock Hill Middle School Track & Field a standout Aaron Workman on setting a new RHMS record in the Long Jump!! The 8th grader set the new record with a leap of 18’3”!!

There wasn’t any timing company there so results probably won’t be posted

Sam Pennington from Logan set two records at the Nelson/York MS Invite with a 12.95 100m and a 27.23 in the 200m. Her best time in the 100m is 12.88 and 27.23 is her best in the 200m. She also has a 18' 06.50 long jump at an indoor meet.

There were 10 records broke at the Nelson/York Invite this past week.

Bridgette Stapleton of Rock Hill Middle School set a new RHMS record in girls long jump last week with a 13’5” leap breaking the old record of 12’11”…
Rock Hill has some good jumpers at the HS and MS levels right now. #GoHill

Cole Miller of Paint Valley jumped 23-1.5 at the McClain Invitational last Friday, setting a school record and a meet record!

Rock Hill’s Izaak Cox and Minford’s Luke Rader Both put on a show tonight at Rock Hill’s invitational!! Cox broke his own record tonight going 23’ even in his first jump and then broke that in his second jump going 23’2.50”!! Luke Rader went over 22 feet twice and finished with a best of 22’3”!!

Alex Baer from Northwest broke the schools discus record with a toss of 151" 1'.

OVC Meet Records that were set last night (5/9/2023):

South Point Boys (Davin Heckard, Joey Blobaum, Elijah Wilburn & Kane LeBlanc) set a new 4x200m OVC record with a time of 1:30.45 besting the old Record of Ironton from 2022 of 1:31.66

Coal Grove Dawson-Bryant's Laura Hamm set a new Girls 1600m OVC record with a time of 5:20.48 beating the previous record of 5:24.50 held by Sarah Watts of Gallia Academy set in 2021.

Coal Grove Dawson-Bryant's Madison McDaniel set a new Girls 200m OVC record with a times of 25.40 beating the previous record of 25.99 set by Portsmouth's Lynsey Shipley set in 2017.

The Girl's 3200m OVC record set in 2017 at 12:24.44 by Gallia's Mary Watts was shattered by two runners last night. Ironton's Anna Davis ran the 3200 in 12:03.21while Coal Grove Dawson Bryant's Laura Hamm is the new official record holder finishing at 11:59.03.

Callie Wilson of Gallia Academy tied her own record in the Pole Vault that she set last year (2022) with a height of 12-00.00

Rock Hill's Izaak Cox broke RHHS's oldest record on the board last night at the OVC Meet. He ran a 22.31 in the 200m Dash breaking the record of 22.4 by RHHS Athletic Hall of Famer LeRoy Shorter set in 1974...
