Zanesville PAL 2013 Winter Wrestling Challenge Jan 20th

The Zanesville PAL will be hosting the 2nd Annual Winter Wrestling Challenge on January 20th 2013 at Zanesville High School.

I was told by many people that this tournament was the best run tournament they have been to all last year...One of these comments was made from someone who had driven 3+ hours to attend...I only heard one complaint last year and that was that we started 10minutes late. THAT WONT HAPPEN THIS YEAR...as we have made a couple of changes to start times. We have added a novice division and made our open division even more desireable to attend for all.

Here are the top 10 reasons to come to this tournament...

10...Great concession stand reasonably priced and open from start to finish

9...Weigh In the night before (New this year) or walk-in day of and weigh in.

8...Team awards, the top 3 teams will recieve very nice large team trophies and the top team will recieve a trophy and a plaque from the OAC...Novice Division results will be included for this award. Scoring for team points as follows...(1st Place=4 points,) 2nd Place=3 points,) 3rd Place=2 points,) 4th Place=1 point)

7...Individual awards...Novice Divisions will receive medallions for top 4 placers...Trophy Awards to the Top 4 placer’s in each weight class for Open tournament. Open Tournament Champions will also receive Championship Bracket.

6...OAC Seeding Tournament, Tournament of Champions Qualifier and OhioWrestler Top 20 Point scoring event...

5...Two coaches from each team admitted free if that team has at least 10 preregistered wrestlers and coach’s names are provided in advance.

4...Novice division for 1st and 2nd year wrestlers only...with registration only $10 with a discount for those willing to wrestle the open division as well for on $28...We will not nicle and dime you to death. Cheap concessions, admissions and discount registrations.

3...Great Officials...I have chosen and invited only the best officials in this area to work this tournament...

2...Excellent, knowledgable tournament staff will keep the tournament organized and running on time and smoothly throughout the day. 5 mats with a bullpen.

1...Excellent facility for a large tournament with easy access from I-70...This facility is only 2yrs old with a large gymnasium with ample seating on 3 sides of the action. Large concession area and plenty of parking.

Just got the list from the OAC of online preregistered wrestlers...There's a bunch....I expect this tournament to be stacked. Only one more day...Cant Wait...Weather wont be an issue for travelers...Hope to see you all there...

Wow...what a day...We had just under 200 wrestlers last year, we expected 250-300 wrestlers this year, but ended up with 440 entries...291 participated in the open OAC Seeding tournament and 149 participated in the novice tournament. Thank you so much for all those who made the trip and supported our program. Sorry that the tournament ran so long, obviously we did not expect the turnout we actually got. I guess, you would call it "growing pains."

For those of you who did not get your medallians for the novice tournament, please e-mail me your addresses and I will get them to you. We took your address, however it got mixed in with trash and accidently thrown away. I have already ordered replacement medals and they will be sent out as soon as I get your addresses.
