after how the tourney went, I would be surprised if there were results

I really wish I would have taken my team home during weigh ins when they changed the weight classes.

they went thru weigh in sheets and bumped wrestlers into different weight classes..

I had never seen or heard of anything like it before..

wch125..
weight classes will be very scattered..
the coach sent out info that everyone in the tournament was getting 2 extra pounds..
I text to see how that would work being the first time and was text back and told to just make scratch the next time
DURING weigh ins Saturday, they decided they were not going to give the two pounds.
they went thru the weigh in sheets and kids that were over the scratch weight class, they bumped up to a higher weight class
mind you these kids and coaches were gone and told about this later
I have never experienced anything like it in my life

then they did 4 pools of three teams so each team wrestled 2 duals.
there was a 2 hr break where they figured out the results to put kids in pools.
only winners of pools scored points for the team
if you lost one match in your pool, you went to a 5-8 bracket and scored no team points. if you went 0-2 in your 2 duals, you were done for the day

The tournament hosts erroneously believed they could allow 2 extra pounds. Immediately the officials questioned their rationale for giving the allowance. It was based on the tournament being Thanksgiving weekend. The officials contacted OHSAA about the matter and were told no allowance was to be allowed.
The format was based on having no one available to run the tournament on a computer. Running these things by hand is a dying art and so they did the best they could.
It was too long and had no flow but sometimes that happens.
I talked to them and they will run their next one on Baumspage provided any of the teams come back. I know that the date will have to change with wrestling season being pushed back two weeks next season.
