better be ready for some hard nosed physical wrestling if they use officials from the east. none of the stalling techniques that some teams in the central have mastered will be tolerated either if the east officials are anything like in the last few years.
Better Question. Who makes it to State from the Nelsonville Sectional?
Reed- Waterford Mclaughlin- NY Zach Hook-NY Packard-Belpre Wiggers-Belpre Lump-PV Davis-ZT I think we could have more SQ's come out of this Sectional than I can ever remember.
Lets get some talk going. I will take a stab at the finals.
103-Border (Caldwell)vs Mclaughlin (NY) 112-Reed Waterford vs Pierce (Northunion) 119-Barlow (Heath) vs Heminger (Northmore) This could be the class to have an upset in the lower bracket with Moody (NY) and Heminger meeting in the semi-finals. 125- Reynolds(Pleasant) vs. Shepard (HIGH) 130-Canter(Bell) vs. ??? 135- Prezzia (St. Clair) vs. Tanner (JMON) or Robinson (Heath) 140- Davis ( ZT) vs. Block (JMON) or Coomes (Plea.) 145- Jefferis (Barn.) vs. Cooperider( Plea.) 152-Merryman (SHAD) vs. Falk (GHTS) 160- Packard (Belpre) vs. Norway (NY) 171-Amos (TVAL) vs. Wiggers (Belpre) 189-Crabtree (WELV) vs. Shook (NCAT) 215- Bondy (MCEN) vs. Fabry (WJEF) 285- Woodford (MFER) vs. Schenkel (CALD) * Just some predictions to get things started....
I could see Norway and Cochran in a semifinals match and the winner of that match facing Packard in the finals. I predict Packard to win. I remember last year only losing to Steve Wilson by 1 point in OT
West Jefferson had 6 champions and 2 runner-ups and will be sending 12 this weekend...I think they are the team to beat with Bellaire and Pleasant pushing for 2nd and 3rd.
Border 125 did not do himself any favors by not wrestling in the finals. He should end up with Riki Reyonlds in the 2nd round. Abbott has Austin Kucera very tough beat Norway early in the year 19-10 very funky kid with great hips. But districts anything can happen. Good Luck to all this weekened.
Congrats to NY for a great dist showing, sending 4 to state. 103 champ McLaughlin, 119 4th Moody, 130 Z. Hook 4th, and Robert Norway 3rd. Good job NY. Congrats Belpre's Ashton Packard, 1st place with a pin in the finals for his 170th win. Congrats to Waterfords 112, Tyler for his second place finish. Best TVC representation in a long time.
