Yes that is great. Maybe someday you will have kids in your district who are good enough to do the same. Until then, keep working those other schools to keep the talent up. Great work. Get a few more next year and you might be able to wrestle that TVC crown away from Athens.

The only "fact" that really mattered is who won the meet, not who "would have won" a meet that didn't happen.

Yes and they are usually easy to spot. They will say things like, "yea we lost, but if it was a dual..."

Or if you didn't have this kid that kid you wouldnt be as good ! Say what you want ny is a solid program and they work their tails off year round. I don't think they just now got good because of a coulple kids. Have been solid quite awhile.

Been good for quite a while yes, but not as good as with these kids. When a guy gets on here after losing and says "yea but..." you are going to catch criticism. Last year it was because NY didn't have as many wrestlers as Athens. Now it's, "if it was a dual..." Just kind of funny that your own guy gives the "yea buts," even though as you point out NY is pretty darn good. Just funny to me.

Guess we will see how much getting out to the area helps at the State. Also, how many Gallia kids wrestled NY? The one I can think of beat the NY kid. Just sayin

Gallia Academy had plenty of kids wrestle nelsonville york kids at the nelsonville york tourney, and we did not fare that well. As far as wrestling against each other all the time at least don't put gallia in that mix. We scene athens at miami trace and a duel and the deno. We scene warren at a tri and deno and not much else.

Yes but one of yours wrestled one of NY's best, maybe the best, and beat him. So that is an indication that Gallia does a pretty good job too.

And really guys wrestling as a whole is not solid in this area. Never has been compared to the rest of the state. Even when teams go outside the area during the season, they still do not fare that well at the state tournament. NY gets guys there, but only one champion and that was how many years ago? I think they have had one place in the past 5 years.

And many of those you mention are the very ones who you admit are from other school districts. Take those out and you have 3 state placers in the last 10 years. Ok, but not great. As I said, this area is not great for wrestling. Maybe if you let all the kids wrestle when you do go to those tough tourny's you will get more out of them. But apparently some are not good enough? Hey I will be the first to commend your program. But it gets old for you folks to get on here and make excuses when you don't win the league. Really, with your history you should not even concern yourself with pointing out that you could have won if you had all weight classes full, or if it was a dual format... Just accept that you can't win everything, and rest on your success in the districts.

I never made an excuse for not winning the TVC our main goal is top 5 at the State meet and state placers every year. Read back I simply stated the facts of the TVC in the 14 head to head matches Nelsonville york scored 42 points to Athens 36 dual points. NY and Athens split matches 7-7 the difference NY pinned Athens in those 7 Athens had 3 pins the two Forfeits and the to minor Dec that is where they lost points. Coach Kaiser has done a great job with the Athens program had brought it to the top of the TVC with NY and has pushed us to continue to work. I did not make an excuse but stated a fact. And I didn't say what if it was a dual tournament read back.

And what matters where they live Mcalughlin and Moody wrestled here since 6th grade, Coons 6th and 8th grades, Leitwien and McCune since KG and Hook since 7th grade. Not like they went to the other middle schools or high schools.

You miss read my intent. I think you guys do a great job, and your kids are not only excellent wrestlers, but great kids as well. I was simply stating a fact as well. NY is fortunate to have kids want to come there and wrestle. But if they would wrestle where they live, or lived those teams would do a lot better. The matches with NY and the Dogs are good ones, and the Dogs came out on top in the league the last couple years. Tourny time now.
