I' gonna have to throw the ones I know of who have been to the state. (This my not included everyone, don't be affended if it doesn't, after all I know very little of everyone who has made it to state.)

Yinger(2nd and 1st place finishes. 2nd in Nationals)
Dress(5th in state)
Young(2x returner)

YES. in fact, I am. He won league last year for SEOAL. So I don't wanna hear you, or your mouth about a wrestling move and one match.

TIm was a good wrestler last year. For you to say he was one of the best ever shows us you know nothing about wrestling. This list should only include state Placers and champs.

Matt Yinger (state runner-up, State Champ)
Mike dress(5th at state)
Steve Young 2x SQ
Jarvis Bateman SQ
Jeremy Sheets SQ
Phillip Trough 5th at districts
kenny handa 5th at districts
tyler mcdonald 6th at districts
Also have to take into consideration Jake Mohney who had very very close matches last year with Brenden Baum D3 State Champion and Lance Esch D2 state runner. Also pinning a SQ in the first round at the Deno
And numerous district qualifiers 11 just last year alone

Just some stats of Nelsonville-york

2x sectional champions
and numerous league champions

I guess I'm a little confused on the topic. Are you talking about the best wrestlers in SE Ohio this year or are you talking about in the past 30 years?

Best from SEO in the last 30 years is how i perceived it.

N-Y has had a lot of SQ's over the past 30 years. Someone help here with names. I know The Takedown Club has a list somewhere, cause I saw it. Jeremy Sheets placed at State, I believe 5th. I don't know why we don't have his picture in the trophy case at the school with the other State placers.

I also have to give some support to Belpre. My husband wrestled for them and was a 2-time SQ back in the late 70's/early 80's. Coach H (can't remember how to spell his name! lol!) earned an award for having the most wins at duals a few years ago. Last year they had a State placer. Scott Adams, their new head coach, placed at State. They've always had a good team.

I have to say Warren Local overall has had the most success. They were a dominate force in the TVC and the SEOAL year in and out. 2 State champs a 4 place finish in Div2, multiple state qualifiers and a bunch of League titles in both leagues speaks for itself. Belpre, Logan, Athens, Marietta and N-Y have all had great success as well.

If you include teams in SE Ohio at the upper end of the SE District, you need to add Sheridan and New Lexington to the list. Sheridan has had a great program since the early 1970's at least, and New Lex has been a dominant program since it first started in 1978 or 79.

NL has something like 35 SQ's since 1980 or 85.
