Orange and Black Classic Youth Tourney- Sunday Jan. 18th!

Post by orangeanblack »

Just an FYI, the “Orange and Black Classic” at New Lexington High School is this Sunday (January 18th). This tournament has been the premier youth event in Southeast Ohio for years, with turnouts as strong as 400 wrestlers in recent tourneys. Come prepared to compete in a full 16-man bracket. Top three place finishers in the “open” youth division will receive deluxe trophies, including a mammoth 21” Trophy to the Champion!

A new feature of this year’s tournament is the “Rookie” Division. This division gives first and 2nd year wrestlers the opportunity to compete against other first and second year wrestlers only. Wrestlers with more than two years of experience may not compete in this division. This tournament also has a junior high division and results will count towards the Top 20 Standings on www.ohiowrestler.com

For more info, download an entry form here: http://www.ohiowrestler.com/Forms/OW_09 ... n_Form.doc
See you on Sunday!

Just a couple more things about this event- The "Orange and Black Classic" is also a Tournament of Champions Qualifier. Top three place finishers will be eligible to compete at the nation's toughest youth tournament, the Tournament of Champions, in Columbus on April 25th. 2500 of the nation's best youth wrestlers attended this event last year.

Among the competitors for the Orange and Black Classic are a team coming in all the way from Georgia that will literally be bringing a busload of wrestlers. Many of these wrestlers will be competing in the 13-15 division. Any wrestlers who are not competing for their middle school team may compete in this division.
