SEOAL vs TVC Match UP

What are the chances we could see a SEOAL vs TVC duel? Tric I think this is right up your alley!! Take all the champs form the TVC match up and go against the SEOAL champs.

That would be a really cool thing to have, but the only problem that I could think of would be the Conference Tournment is usually followed by Sectionals

You chould set this up as a preview next season. It would be up to each league to put together a line up.

This could be done the week before the allstar meet, worthwhile event in my opinion.

It would be great if this could be a regular season meet say a quad. athens and Nelsonville-TVC vs Logan and Gallipolis -SEOAL or any other combos rotate the host Team every year Champion of the tournament would be both teams scores combined of course dual scores would count for record purposes. The only problem having it post season is lack kids since most play multi sports. This is still a great idea I think would love to see it happen.

Had this idea for years when I coached at Marietta.

Why not a big tournament at the Convo where school team points are kept but also keep points for the two leagues to crown a league winner as well?

20 man double elimination bracket tourament
place top 8

or

2 days
20 teams
4 pools of five
top two in each pool pull out for an 8-man bracket on day 2. 3-4-5 pulled out into six man pools based on day one records to get them 5 matches on day two.
Place the top 8 individuals

Great idea! This event could either be at the convo each year (if it could be arranged) or rotate to schools that have the facility to host it.
An early season Venue would probably be best. Keep it fun and use as a tune-up!

putting a full team together pays major dividends in a small bracket tourney where only place points are awarded

Do it as an early season tournament at the convo before teams get into the meat of their schedules, every team in both leagues participates, seed the wrestlers on a 16 man bracket to avoid early round matchups between your best kids and keep scores for individual teams. In addition keep a running total of advancement points in TVC vs. SEOAL matches and give placement points to the respective league for their wrestlers in the top 6. Would be a very interesting event to watch.

You could even get creative with the matchups by seeding based on league affiliation and placing the top seeds in each league on opposite sides of the bracket. There are numerous possibilities to make this one of the most interesting events to watch in the area.

I think this having it at the Convo with these two leagues would also get some possible scouts out to view our kids even more. Nice central location with several schools is a nice attraction for scouts to view.
Of course alot of bragging rights...lol

I'm definately a SEOAL guy but this year the TVC would be a load for the SEOAL to compete with. The SEOAL doesn't have a standout team this year like it usually does. While the TVC has NY and Athens loaded with great wrestlers. You throw in some of the guys Waterford has the TVC is very tough this year. I'd like to see some potential matchups from each league if somebody has a better knowledge of the area kids than me?

I would have kids earn points in the pools or the whole way through the brackets.

I hate only giving placements points and it is a tournament directors way of getting out some work during the tournament.

Schenk11 runs a great tournament, been to several he has run and they run smooth, with no errors.

Sounds like a great idea, people who could make this happen should work on it during the off season.
