This is a great opportunity to build your own program, top to bottom. ZHS has not had a wrestling program since the late 1970s. The local PAL has been operating a wrestling program here, and there are some kids who have open-enrolled to surrounding districts for wrestling.
ZHS will move into a BRAND-NEW building this fall, too.
Based on current divisional breakdowns and our enrollment number (399 boys), per OHSAA and ODE, ZHS would be in DIVISION II.
Here is the job posting, released today:
Varsity Wrestling Coach-ZHS
Applications should be mailed to Zanesville High School, c/o Scott Aronhalt, 1701 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Deadline for application is Friday, May, 21, 2010.

I do not know this for sure, but I would guess that they will be going to the Meadowbrook Sectional. That is where all the rest of the D-II teams in Musk County go to.

Re: Zanesville seeks head wrestling coach
Gahanna Lincoln assistant Jeff Lawless has been hired by ZHS to revive a program dead since the 1970s. That means one of the biggest schools in the state without a program now has wrestling again.

Re: Zanesville seeks head wrestling coach
Glad to see Zanesville get a program going they have alot of kids in the school that could probably be very good in wrestling. I know its a basketball crazy school but with the Zanesville Pal having a wrestling program there is a great chance for them to have success in wrestling.
