Re: Districts at Marietta
A couple little things for the Coach Kerns and the Ironton Golfers:
Traditional Irish Blessing and Toast
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold
you in the hollow of his hand
An Olde Irish Wish
May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow
May the soft winds freshen your spirit
May the sunshine brighten your heart
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.
Golfer's Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep
Beneath the setting sun;
I pray the Lord that He will
Let me get a hole in one.
And if I die before I wake
I pray my clubs He'll let me take!
The Golfer's Prayer
The Lord is my Caddy; I shall not choke
He maketh me good lies in green fairways:
He leadeth me over the still waters.
He restoreth my swing:
He leads me down the cart paths of righteousness
To avoid slow play
For Heaven’s sake!
Yea! Even though I walk through the shadow of
double bogey
I will fear no bunkers:
For Thou art clubbing me;
Thy sand wedge and putter
They comfort me
Thou preparest a match for me in the presence of
my foursome
Thou anointest my head with confidence; the cups
overflow.
Surely eagles and birdies shall follow me
All the rounds of my life
And I shall dwell in His clubhouse, victorious forever!
Play well gentleman and have fun! I know that a lot of people are supporting you everytime you walk on to the course.

Amen Corner - can you update us on the days, tee-times and results) for the IHS golfers?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Districts at Marietta
Not as good of day as I would have liked to have seen the Ironton golfers play. Tough course and a lot of high scores but still proud of them.
Ironton finished 4th with a score of 330. Logan Elm had a 328, Tuscaraw(not sure how you spell it) finished with 326 and Meadowbrook won it with a 324. The top 2 teams advanced.
Nathan Kerns will be going to state again as an individual. He shot a 77 and there was a playoff going for between 3 golfers with a score of 78 to see who the 2nd individual would be. Good luck to Nathan at the state.
For Ironton, Kerns shot a 77, Josh Zornes had an 82, Andy Holtzapfel had an 84, Josh Mullens had an 87, and Mason Weisgarber had a 91. Great job boys. I know you would have liked to have been going to state but we are very proud of all of you. Can't wait for next year. We sure will miss Nathan, but we everyone else back. Get out there and practice together during the off season.
You guys accomplished alot this season. You won the Ironton Invitational, The Portsmouth/Portsmouth Clay Invitational, The SEOAL League Championship, and finished 1st in the Sectionals at Shawnee and you were just a few strokes short of going to the state as a team. We could not be prouder.
I am already being hit up for a new set of irons, HA HA, maybe for your birthday Josh Z.
Great fan support today for the Tigers.
Also to South Point's Andrew Davis, I know you may not have had the day you wanted either but you got to play at districts and I know your mom is proud and so is your coach and school. Congrats to the other area golfers who made it to districts as well.

^^^^^ not a thing wrong with those results. Looks like the sky is the limit for that young team.
I have wanted to go see Nate Kerns play at state since his high school career began. This is the year. Please update us regarding his schedule.

I didn't know all of the scores but my son just got home and said Gallia also had a 330. Congrats to them as well.

Congrat Coach Kerns and ALL the IHS Golf team. I believe you made the entire town proud, by winning the SEOAL Championship this season. I am looking forward to seeing this team mature and prosper in coming years.
Wonderful season! Also, thanks for the help with the Split the pot tix this season guys. I think Santa may have something for you all this year!
