Wahama Swim Team

Post by Baldeagle »

New team. Will be practicing ath the Mason Levy. Anybody who can swim to the Pomeroy levee and back makes the team. Gary Fields, greatest swimmer ever at Glenville State University, is set to coach the team. Spread the word.

Seems a bit cold to swim in November (that's when the topic was created)
How many made it?

I believe some of those kids may still be trying to cross the river as these words are written....high water has been a real problem.

One of the kids just reached the bridge in Cincinnati today. He went in the wrong direction, but the coach says if he can swim that far, in this weather he is on the team.

The TVC yearly meet will have to be held at Meigs and Wahama's home venue, the Ohio River because the Hocking river is just not big or deep enough to hold the meet and the spectators would have no place to sit. Pomeroy and Mason have concrete walkways and parking lots.

I heard one kid made it halfway and turned around and swam back. Said it was too far.
